Griffin
We got the Aras & Silkies out from the garage for a bit this morning for a bit of a photo session. Will do the Orps, Dorkings & Poland tomorrow I know both breeds are really hard to sex but after seeing this picture I'd say I might have one of each Ara. What do you think? Here's the one on the right on it's own And the left one who has always been my favourite of the two because it's head always looked squashed The Silkies are both blooming ugly One seems to be sporting a mohican while the other still just has fluff I love my babies lots
Chickvic
They are gorgeous but at the size difference in the first two
Griffin
It's just the angle, they're not really that different!

atsw
Great pictures . I wouldn't want to even guess the sexes of any of them, but fab all the same. Have to agree about the blooming ugly Silkies ( ), but I'm sure they will look fantastic once they have grown up . Andrew
Griffin
They're definitely an acquired taste I hated them until I actually met a beautiful white one that made me want to have one, so now we have our own white Silkie called Tiger Lily. If you can see past the ugliness they do serve a purpose, notoriously broody almost all the time and I hope one of these is a girl so I'll have at least two to use for hatching next year. I've got one Silkie egg due to hatch next weekend to pin my hopes on if these two are boys.
Egluntyne
How did you get them to pose so beautifully for the top picture? They are very cute.
Griffin
I think it was through fear They'd not been outside before and I could see them thinking 'OMG OMG OMG!!!' They had all the grass to run around on but all they wanted to do was hide underneath a coop from the big scary outdoors

Phosphorus
Haven't a clue on silkies but I will stick my neck out on the aras. I agree one girl one boy. The bottom one has more fluff on the head which is in line with a girl and the top one is standing very much like my lad (okay too young to know for sure but I think it is a cert mine is a boy ). Lovely piccies - mine would never pose like that
Phosphorus
Oh and forgot to say I think your silkies are gorgeous - don't you dare call them ugly . I better not start thinking about silkies as well, dh will kill me - he is still extending the existing WIR

Griffin
So hard that the chap I've hired to replace our guttering started work today but first wanted to meet all the chickens because he's kept poultry all his life. He asked why I had a Silkie cockerel in with the Brahma chicks He swears Tiger Lily looks like a boy but I know she definitely isn't
