Well you all said I should get one, so I did

Does anyone elses have problems pronouncing road names?

Or saying road numbers incorrectly?

It can't pronounce Leicester (lersshhh) or Earlstree (erssshhh)

And it says road numbers as "the A five thousand one hundred and ninety nine" It takes my brain a good few minutes to realise that it means the A five one nine nine

I have the Katy voice. Are they all the same or are some better than others?

mine don't talk proper either - can't understand her when she calls the 'ten seventy-nine' the other gobbledegook nonsence. She's got lovely elocution but is inclined to swallow words and town names that embarass her somewhat.

Mine can't talk properly either, I cant have the lady voice as she cannot say 'roundabout' properly and I shout at her!

Yaws ur posher than mine it doesn't say names etc just what to do in an authoritarian voice. I've got the american female voice so I don't have a man telling me what to do and I like going round rotaries.

We have a Navigon (called Winnie ) and she's great, she would say the A five one nine nine. Never had any problems with her pronunciation of anything

We have a sat nav but we turn the voice off, because we just end up shouting at it!

 

 

You're not the only one - we turn the sound off as well! - especially as I can't be bothered to add a 'via' to it and I know Jane will try to make every journey we take go on the M40. We only turn the sound back on for finding addresses right at the end.

I think Jane isn't so bright as doesn't know as many words as yours (or cleverer for being more discerning maybe)

Her annoying habit is to tell you to turn when it is illegal to do so. There was one dual carriageway with a gap every few metres with no right turn and she kept repeating every few metres with me answering back every few metres

May I know what you have against the Welsh ?

...But I don't have a Welsh accent...only a little one.

 

I'm welsh, but my parents are English, Grandparents are Welsh, and so on.
