Hi

I don't often post on the site but thought I'd show you my chicks. I was really lucky in that 5 out of my 6 eggs hatched. Unfortunately the 6th died whilst hatching. We are now in the process of waiting to see if there are any cockerels. My daughter is trying her best to find any clues as to whether they are hens or not.

Would anyone like to guess whether they are a hen or a cockerel.

Thanks for the guesses. They are a maran (pic 1), 2 x white stars, a cotswold legbar (pure breed) and a buff orpington.

A Cotswold Legbar is a hybrid

Fiona's eggs came from our girls......it will be a pure breed Cream Legbar......but I only wrote CL on the egg :D , the Whitestars were crossed with the Cream Legbar cockerel and I thought one egg was from the Buff Orp, but that will be a cross as well as we don't have a Buff Orp. cockerel.

They do look gorgeous though - we have two broody hens at the moment........... - I might let them sit on eggs......
