Whilst out in the garden with the ex-batts I happened to be looking at Stan and she twitched her bum into the 'pooing position' but then let out an enormously loud, rippling fart .

 

She looked totally shocked, and so was I as I didn't realise that chooks could fart like that I don't know who was more , me or her.

mine do "let rip" quite often usually after pasta or chips although spinach is the worst.....not unlike the hubby (BTW. they don't live on junk food honest just regular feed, salad, veg and table s"Ooops, word censored!"s ... my kids just don't really like pasta or oven chips )

Daisy did this in the eglu the other night. I'd just shut their door and had the egg port open to check they were all settled in. They all looked at each other then at me. I just shone the torch on Daisy!

I've never noticed mine doing this either but that made me laugh - especially the thought of you shining the torch on Daisy

It's not just the grown ups, one of my chicks farted in my face at the weekend and it was very stinky The newborns live in a large rat cage on the landing so every time I go up or down the stairs I just have to peek in, and this time my face was directly in line with the chicks bum

This post made me laugh when I read it , then this morning one of my chicks (Queenie) did exactly the same thing! pity she didn't keep that one until my sons were around they're gutted they missed it!!

The first time I heard ours was Sioux, walking up the garden path in front of me. Couldn't believe my ears. She's done it a couple of times now. Apache - one doesn't do that (the little madam). On the other hand the babes are regular parpers! I wondered if it was the bokashi bran? DD cracks up when she hears them (toilet humour big in this household anyway) - mostly they are sitting on her lap when they do - and that's when I get to laugh!
