Lesley
Scott was such a let down yesterday - and so funny when back at camp telling all the other hens how awful it was, fighting ff all those foxes I was so tempted to break a habit of a lifetime and vote for Scott to do the next challenge Luckily, everyone else had the same idea! Guest
We are a day behind as we had to tape it, but I am really enjoying your updates I must admit that David has a couple of fans in our household at the moment, he is so funny ( I have a feeling we may go off him later on if he doesn't have some more sweet treats though)

Guest
DAY 4 IN THE JUNGLE When the viewing flocks of Britain voted in Pekin, Scott and New Hampshire Red, Jan to do the next food trial, few of them could have anticipated the spactacular sight of the two battling camphens floating through the air in pink lycra body suits. With one wing tucked safely inside, to put their flying off balance, the 2 hens were left teetering precariously on a tightrope, while trying to catch floating inflatable eglus in their beaks. They caught five, but poor Jan got so excited she clucked at the wrong moment and one escaped from her beak, leaving the unhappy campers to traipse back to the jungle with the bad news that they had only managed to win five meals for the camp. Once back in camp, Jan decided it was her turn to sizzle, and treated young Sussex Star, Toby to an impromptu strip-tease, as she removed her pink lycra. Sadly, as we all know, it's moulting time, even when you're in the Jungle, so not only was Toby treated to the pink lycra comeing off, but also a large patch of Jans back feathers, leaving the New Hampshire Red blushing with embarrassment. Exotic Brahma, Phina, continued to rub her fellow camphens feathers up the wrong way, as she clucked and squarked over the lack of food, the lack of lovely shredded paper for the nestbox, and the lack of space in the eglu at night. Shame, as 'Chooks in the Jungle' has a big surprise for the Camphens tomorrow...... The camp descended into a frenzy of scratching and feather plucking, when a treat of mealworms and poultry spice was dropped into camp, after the camphens correctly identified Toby, as chook most able to fly over a ten foot hedge. With only 4 meals for the camp dinner, the camphens were left reeling when the news that none of them would be taking part in a food trial on day 5 was broken. How on earth would the camphens earn their golden eggs on day 5 of 'Chooks in the Jungle'
Mrs Frugal
Thanks Shona. Most enjoyable. Bit worried about poor Toby having to watch the striptease .

Guest
WEEKEND UPDATE (with apologies - had a busy long weekend!) Friday saw the surprise arrival of Bovans Nera, Dean. A cockney cockeral at heart, the Nera was put right into the thick of it, by being made to take part in the Friday food challenge. Put in a chamber full of steaming cockles and mussels, Dean had to find the rancid jellied eels, and strip them of the jelly to find the golden eggs. Full of nerves, he retched and clucked his way through the challenge, until the hooter hooted, leaving Dean victorious with 9 out of 11 eggs. Flushed with success, Dean was left to scrabble his way into camp, where upon he was declared the camp savour when the feast of mealworms and fresh corn cobs were delivered for dinner, leaving the camphens with a lovely bloated feeling that not even Davids nocturnal crowing could dampen. Saturday saw Dean continue to integrate with the rest of his fellow camphens, with much mutual preening being spotted between him and Barnevalder Matt. With so much food having been consumed the night before, there was little argument when Phina tucked into the morning pellets, and the Brahma was heard to belch several times, after eating more than her fair share. Phina began to regret her greediness when she heard that she would be taking part in the daily food task along with Scott. The two taken to the deepest part of the jungle and were asked to extract the golden eggs from a foxes lair. Luckily for them, the fox was sleeping, but it was hard - every time the eggs touched the side of the lair, they were showered in a mixture of Stokholm tar and weevil powder, and the smelly pair eventually came away with six stars to feed the still bloated camphens with. In camp, New Hampshire Red, Jan continued to irritate her fellow camphens with her constant whining and buuurking, and she and Phina had yet another spat over the Glug and Grub. With Jans feathers beginning to thin on top, you have to wonder jsut how much longer she's going to fight for top spot in the pecking order. Just as the camphens were recovering from the introduction of new camphen Dean, A new camphen was discovered, hanging from the jungle canopy clinging onto a luxury chest. It was down to Partridge Wyandotte, Lauren and Barnevalder Matt to risk life and wing to climb the trees and rescue poor Miss Pepperpot, Malandra, and her chest full of cabbage leaves and peach schnapps and bring her and the treasure back to camp. Sunday saw New Hamshire Red, Jan being voted in to do yet another food task, and the hen did a marvelous job to win the camp a whopping 10 golden eggs, by fighting off snakes and rats in the Pit of Doom. However, her impressive tally in the food task failed to win her any friends in the camp, as she clucked her own trumpet, and disturbed the others from their early morning dustbath. Dorking Myleene continued to raise the jungle temperature, with her x-rated dustbath, leading her fellow camphens to speculate on just how far she was willing to go in an effort to win the male vote back home. All the hens in the jungle this year have ample breast bones, but none are willing to take advantage of the fact to quite the same degree an the flirty Myleene. Monday brought yet another food task for Jan, but her antics with a pen full of prize bulls and llamas paled into insignificance when a bombshell was dropped in camp. They would be splitting into 2 rival factions. Girls v boys. Chaps v chappesses. Hens v cockerals. The hens were moved swiftly to a new eglu further into the jungle, while the cockerals were left where they were, and 'Chooks in the Jungle' took on a whole new meaning. With the first eviction only days away, the stunned camphens were told that even the food trials would be girls v boys, winner takes all, including immunity from eviction. First challenge was for a luxury chest, with Matt and Scott up for the boys, and Phina and Lauren up for the girls. If the producers were after feathers flying, then they weren't disappointed. Phina and Scott, bosom buddies in the camp till now, came to blows when Buff Pekin, Scott refused to move when Phina found the key to release the luxury chestand an enraged Phina went straight for Scotts wattles, and before long the blood was flowing. With feathers being plucked, and combs bitten, a bedraggled Scott conceeded, and the girls won the first battle, and took the chest full of sweetcorn back to their new camp. With the unsettled camphens left to snuggle up in half empty eglus for the night, they were left wondering what else could possibly happen to them on this years 'Chooks in The Jungle'
Lesley
Brilliant Shona - thank you! I'm so pleased you're back - I won't need to watch them all now - perhaps I don't like the split into Hens and Cockerels - I would have preferred a split containing both in each group. i can't think of anything worse than a group of hens together and for once I had to agree with whingeing Jan
gooner.girl
Is anyone else still watching i'm a celebrity?... I have killed myself laughing over David Gests 'stories' the chinese girls with herpes and albino heights hotel!!!
Lesley
Yes - I'm still watching - at least it ends this week. I must admit, David is much funnier than I thought he would be - I thought he'd be first out.
chelsea
I think David deserves to win. I thought he'd be a big diva "prima donna" and thought he'd walk after 1 day. Fair play to him for sticking it out, entertaining us and keeping the camp amicable. Him or Jason to win. I would hate it if Phina won...cant stand the woman.
