Harry Potter, did anyone get there today?

Recommended Posts

We usually go as a family on the release date but my sisters have been doing watersports with guides tonight. We have always been as a family since the first one so it will be Monday before we can all go together. We rented the previous film at the weekend to remind us what had happened and we watched the programme on itv at the weekend. It looks really exciting.

We are going to see it soon but it will be tinged with sadness for us and our ES. I think he and his friends will all see it together.

I hope its a good film, we love Harry Potter.

Ann, I had forgotten about that (((hugs)))

We are going tonight :P:P:P

I bought the tickets WEEKS ago, when they first came out, so we have brilliant seats too.

Hubby was supposed to be coming with, as its our 21st wedding anniversary today, but needs to work instead, so I am taking the daughters plus eldest girls boyfriend, & we are going out for something to eat afterwards too - I can't wait :P:P:P

We usually go as a family too, but DS is working the day we wanted to go, so just OH, DD and I will be going to the Empire, Leicester square, for DD's 17th Birthday on the 17th July.

As a special birthday treat, we are taking her to China Town for a meal first.

I also reread the book a couple of weeks ago and was amazed by how much I had forgotten, but also remembered how sad I feel when I finish reading each Harry Potter book!

Well I've been!!! It was Great! Did you enjoy it too Cinnamon???

It was quite dark in places, but also funny which is a change. It's great to see that they have let the characters grow up and into themselves...

Would recomend it. I'd not read the book so had no preconceived ideas, but my OH says it's a tad different, but not disappointing!

It had some very funny moments.

It was a bit spoilt: they started 15 min late then had trouble projecting the film. They got 1 min in, stopped it, we waited for 5-10 min. They then repeated this and on the 3rd time got it projected so it fit the screen 40 mins late and the film started :(

We've seen the first minute of the film 3 times

Not decided whether I should complain and try for a partial refund.

I totally loved it & thought it was a splendid adaptation of a darn good book.

Lots of laugh out loud moments, lots of tension & one bit where I swear everyone in the cinema flew out of their seats

Its lovely to see them grown up, especially young Ron who he daughters both agree has turned into a handsome chap 8)

They have grown as actors too, with Tom Felton who plays Draco being markedly better than he ever as been before.

Some of the sets were amazing, & I enjoyed the muted colours & moody feel of some parts of the film.

The Burrow in particular was much better recognised & portrayed in this movie than it ever has been before - it looked exactly how I imagine it should.

Chocchick,of course you should complain!

You won't get a refund I shouldn't think, but comp tickets for future movies.

We thoroughly enjoyed it too.

I agree about the jumping out of the seat moment. I am sure that most people knew exactly what was about to happen but still jumped!

A couple of things annoyed me but that was about the cinema and not about the film....Firstly, it is a great cinema with comfy spacious seats ....so why did the chap behind me keep kicking the back of my chair!!!!

Also, one woman had taken three kids with her, the eldest of which was six. The youngest was about two and still in a buggy! Given her age and the length and content of the film, she behaved very well but she wanted to go to the toilet a couple of times and mum wouldn't take her so she cried - loudly.

As we walked past mum at the end of the movie she was shouting at the poor little girl saying, !You've been $^&(*%T awful. I am never taking you to the pictures again!"

Apart from that, great film!!
