Tara.F Posted July 23, 2009 Share Posted July 23, 2009 Ooh! I know! I think you have a boy there! i have three white sussex chicks and they are four and a half weeks old. The girls apparently feather up quicker....two of ours were fully feathered by four weeks, one remains in the 'scruffy' stage Also, the girls tail feathers are predominantly white, while the boys tails are mainly grey and black. Finally, the boys wing tips are very dark when folded, the girls (who also have dark wing tips) cover them with white feathers when folded. At four and a half weeks the girls combs are actually slightly larger than the boys who develop later. As you can tell....I've been putting a lot of research into this!
