The Dogmother
Probably Snowy We used to use that phrase too. I remember that it went from unconsciously incompetent to consciously competent, but can't remember the bits in between Something to do with conscious senility I guess! Guest
I learnt it as a square with 2 columns and 2 rows. One column was incompetent and the other competent. One row was unconscious and the other conscious. So there are 4 permutations. I've never forgotten it and we often refer to it in a joking way actually! feemcg
I've never heard of the 4 levels before - hope I move through them quickly though! And I certainly hope theres no incontinence involved!

Guest
I learnt it as a square with 2 columns and 2 rows. This is known as Joharis Window i think Well, I don't think they called it that when I was training. Perhaps the lecturer couldn't pronounce it! I'm also getting the impression people think you move through the 4 stages. I was taught that you can move from any box to any other. The one you want to help people avoid is the conscious incompetent because that is just plain depressing! And the people you want to avoid like the plague are the unconscious incompetents! I think they have to become conscious before they can become competent.
feemcg
Eh?...now I really wish I hadn't drunk that bottle of wine (because I was told to, wasn't I Emma?, for medicinal purposes, for the hectic day I've had!)
