Guest
I'm back from the Big Apple where we had a great time doing the tourist thing as we bought New York passes. Having the passes meant we did some things we wouldn't normally bother with - the river trip was good - although we got sunburnt! Central Park Zoo was rather pants - only a handful of animals and NONE of the ones from Madagasgar!!! I really thought there would be a lion there! I didn't think a lot of the penguin enclosure either and the woman doing the talk at the feeding reckoned it was a million times better than the one at London Zoo - I don't think she'd ever been there. Anyway - the Top of the Rock was good - never done that before. The down side was losing my phone. I last had it here.... James signed up for the NYPD - we even ended up with a genuine NYPD whistle from one of his "colleagues" Then we went past one great lady on another James changed career to become a barman - and took to drinking cosmos (which they NEVER charged us for!) And finally in one of the huge reliefs lining the corridor We discovered a quirky secret... Oh and one thing I sadly have no pictures of as my camera was in my stateroom at the time. As we entered European waters an announcment was made that one of the passengers had a brother who was an F15 pilot and they were flying past to welcome us to Europe. We dashed out on deck for the most AMAZING display - they even flew down the sides of the ship so close it seemed like we could almost touch them! And we've come home to a mountain of washing, found a delivery has been made a week early (they were supposed to take something away too which hasn't gone), we still have red mite in the Eglu and my cat doesn't seem herself. Oh and I've spent half the night on the phone trying to sort out the insurance claim for my missing phone! Olly
Great pics ... that's the downside of coming back to reality though, isn't it. Hope the cat (and the phone) can be sorted out. I love the 'quirky secret'! How weird.
