Island living....

Recommended Posts

My car decided to go caput a fair distance from home last week and although I was able to get a friend take me home, I had to walk 15 miles yesterday to get it sorted. Sooooooo I decided to take my camera and look for examples of why I choose to live on Plum Island. I can't explain in words the feeling of relief and relaxation I get the closer I get to home.

Welcome Home.... :D

Wow :D8) . It is stunning, Mark :D .

Love Muscle Man  . It's not you dressed up, I take it  .

Wow too at the 15 mile walk :clap: .

The 15miles was nothing.....It was a cool, crisp autum day and I quite enjoyed walking the back roads and farms, all of which I've passed whilst driving in my car but not really had an opportunity to enjoy. Yesterday was my day to "Stop and smell the roses."

Hi Mark, looks like a great place to live, is that your Cessna 177, if it is when can we come over......... Just a thought. :)

Quite honestly I would never (until recently) needed a Cessna as I am deathly afraid to fly, now mind, I do fly on some occasions for work but generally have to be sedated in order to do so. I have however been speaking to the folks that run the flight school at our little airport about some flying lessons and they tell me learning about flying and being in control just might help me with my phobia to flying.

So lovely I am quite jealous! . I hate flying too - gets worse every time. But I felt wonderful in an old bi-plane - have no idea why - more exposed, but maybe less claustrophobic? How about a microlite instead of the car - you don't need to fly too high then (and cut corners too), although you might get rather soggy come the winter and autumn (I did write fall, but thought you might read that as ouch rather than wheeee leaves falling).
