My 'notify' e mails dont seem to be working. Is it just me or has anyone else had a problem?

Mine have never been consistent - topics I used to get alerts for sometimes forget to notify me.

mine seem ok, but I've only signed up for them in the past month or so.

Mine were okay, when I had them... but I just got so many! I didn't just get one e-mail per topic that had a reply, I got an e-mail per post to a topic...it drove me insane after a while...especially if I went on holiday and came back to 200 or so e-mails. It completely clogged up my inbox so in the end I had to cancel them.

Mine have always worked well. I havent checked my spam box though. Thats a good idea. I wonder if they are in there??

The notification e-mails are being sent (we promise!), but they do seem particularly susceptible to getting intercepted by spam filters, both locally in e-mail software and at internet service providers. (AOL seems particularly keen on marking our stuff as spam and deleting it!)

 

If you aren't getting notifications, or they're going straight to your 'spam' or 'junk' folder, it may be worth trying some of the following:

 

Add 'info@omlet.co.uk' and 'barbara@omlet.co.uk' to the 'whitelist' of addresses allowed to send e-mail to your account. Instructions for whitelisting addresses in Yahoo, Hotmail/MSN, AOL and Outlook can be found here: http://www.emailtools.co.uk/tips/whitelisting.htm

 

Add 'info@omlet.co.uk' and 'barbara@omlet.co.uk' to your e-mail address book (In many e-mail clients this will automatically whitelist those addresses.)

 

You may also have to whitelist those addresses in any internet security software you are running, such as Norton 360 or AVG.

Those are all whitelisetd on my account Matt, and have been for years now. Whether or not I receive them is still random though

I've received email notifications for PMs since I joined the forum 5 years ago......but they have just stopped and I haven't changed anything at all. The only way I know I have a PM now is when a pop up appears when I log in!

Mine all go to my yahoo account and after the web work at the weekend, yahoo has decided they are all spam candidates and sends them there, not to my inbox. Yahoo being rubbish, there is no 'not spam' tab on an email, so there they will have to stay.

I don't have a spam filter so mine definitely aren't going into spam. They are just not arriving.

I still receive the ones for PMs, which is all I'm signed up to, most of the time anyway.

As of yesterday my notify mails have started to arrive again. No apparent reason as I can see for their absence or reappearance. Very strange
