Am I alone in thinking she's the best thing to hit the commercial music scene for a couple of decades? I'm just watching her being interviewed on MTV and she comes across as being incredibly smart, in control and together. I love the theatre in her performance, and that's some killer pop.

 

I'm way too old to be this gushily excited by pop. But I heart her! :dance: :dance:

I think she is bonkers what with her tea cup and saucer prop, but she is also really talented. I didn't like her last single, but loved Paparazzi Video was a bit saucy

I didn't get to see her at V - she was playing in the big tent bit and there is a walkway through to there which had been closed as there were too many people in there already.

I think she is brilliant! Loved Poker face & Just dance. Paparazzi is a bit too sweetie sweet for me. I love her style too, especially the way she paints her lips & her pink wigs!

Oooh no, CHP. It's a very, very dark song. It's a dual-interpretation lyric about the twisted symbiotic relationship between artist and press and the explosive/implosive destruction which ensues. She is both stalker and stalkee. It's only a sweet tune to make the lyrics sound more juxtaposed. She did a shocking version of it on the MTV awards yesterday which sort of sums up just how dark that song really is. Very theatrical, it was.

I heard her interviewed on the radio a couple of months back. She sounds like she has always been a kooky character who likes to do her own thing. I think her style is all her own, not manufactured like some.

 

Her music is good pop, not necessarily my thing, but still good. ED has asked for her album for her birthday.

I thought it was about the whole media attention killing stars or the attention driving stars to suicide, type thing, but very gothic just because she can.

 

She's absolutely not manufactured. She used to write for manufactured acts, while performing on the NYC club scene, with a view to being able to go solo with her own stuff. Which is exactly what she's done. She's canny as.

 

And she's not a transgender. She's just got quite a masculine face.
