chickencam
I have just heard on BBC news that Keith Floyd has died of a heart attack. Did anyone see the programme last night on channel 4 being interviewed by Keith Allen. It made uncomfortable viewing. He looked so old and frail, he looked as old as my 90 year old Grandad He was a flamboyant if not entirely likable character whose programmes made great viewing. We had tickets to see him at the Cheltenham literature festival next month. We said after last night's programme that we would be lucky if he was fit enough to attend. Griffin
Very sad but not unexpected. He lived just across the road from where I work in Faringdon and up until his recent divorce I'd often see him and he looked so ill then. I watched the programme about him last night and he actually looked a bit better than he had done when I last saw him. He seemed happier living in France than here. A legend. Cinnamon
Oh no, that is a terrible shame. I loved him - he was the first & the best anarchistic cook A man who lived life to the full,I think - sadly missed.
bluekarin
I'll raise a glass to him tonight RIP Keith
Old Speckled Hen
Do you mean the chef? Oh dear what a shame. He loved his boozy cooking didn't he? A great character. Some people get scythed by high living more easily than others. My best mates horrid husband has been drinking himself to death for 50 years and is still here as obnoxious as ever
Lesley
He's been battling bowel cancer - on the later news. We always enjoyed watching him - a sad loss. We did watch the programme last night but switched off after the second use of the 'C' word wasn't bleeped out.....and not keen on Keith Allen either. henriette
I really enjoyed watching his programmes on TV. He brought another dimension to cooking. I loved his excentric behaviour. I didn't realise he had been ill though as the TV series was an old one I think. Oh dear, what with Patrick Swayze and Keith Floyd it has not been a good news day... Tiggy
I saw the programe last night and thought the same, he looked much older than he was, all thos years of booze and fags took their toll, no exactly PC was he
kitchens
I watched the programme last night and when I heard the news this morning I thought 'wow that's a bit spooky'. Great to watch but as Keith Allen found out last night ..... he controlled everything around him. Did make me draw in a huge intake of breath though as at the end of the programme Keith Allen announced that Floyd had bowel cancer ..... but his liver was totally healthy!! Oh well. He smoked and drank .... and thats the way he liked it. He lead the life he wanted to lead. RIP
Jillus
RIP. He led a full life and had lots of fun, what a great epitaph. Sad news though.
Seagazer
I used to like watching his tv programmes, was his cameraman called Colin? Didn't he always used to tell him off for filming the wrong thing at the wrong time? RIP Keith
Egluntyne
I heard it on Radio 4 this morning as I drove over the Snake Pass, along with the news that Patrick Swayze had died. A sad day.
