Reikiranf Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 We are looking for a new oven and I wondered if any of you could recommend any particular makes and models. Hotpoint or anything under it's associated brands is not an option as that's the brand that we are replacing. We'd like one that's eay to clean, our current one has stay clean liners where you put the oven on a high temperature for a couple of hours and it supposedly gets rid of grease etc but all it seems to do is fill the house with smoke and make my eyes sting and water In addition to meals I do make a fair amount of soda bread, cakes and biscuits. I don't think I'd go for any other make now if I had to get another one. It's an older version of this http://www.neff.co.uk/U16E74.html If you search around on the net you should find it a heck of a lot cheaper than the likes of Comet or Currys. I bought it from an online appliance company somewhere near Derby but I can't remember their name now. Another good company with good prices and excellent delivery are http://www.electrical123.com/ Hope this helps edited to say have just realised that electrical123.com don't appear to do Neff but they have got a lot of choice of Bosch and Smeg. Busybird Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 I got a new Neff U1644 double oven a couple of years ago and love it. I bake a lot of bread as well as cakes, biscuits, roasts, casseroles, quiches and so on and it performs really well. The top and bottom ovens are both fan assisted and have exactly the same settings which was important to me as it gives maximum flexibility if I am cooking small or large amounts of stuff. The sides are self cleaning and I keep the bottom clean with baking soda. I use my oven very regularly and have had no problems with this model. Sam Palmer Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 We've had integrated Neff double ovens in both this house and our last one. My mother in law has one too. They are good, however we've had to have the fan motor replaced on both of ours, as has MIL. We had a new kitchen/extension two years ago and fitted a Smeg double electric oven and have had to have it replaced twice! This one has been working now for over a year but doesn't cook very evenly. I previously had a diplomat electric double oven (cheapish brand from MFI) and that was fab, cooked evenly and had it for 8 years with no problems. Patricia W Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Neff fan here. Ours is about 20 years old and wonderful. Unfortunately, we left it in a house we rent out and we have a Technik -which we were told was made by Neff, but it's not a patch on the real thing. I can make foolproof Yorkshire Pud in the Neff, whilst it's a pancake in the Technik! I think the Technik cooks at a higher temperature so I've got an oven thermometer to try to work out the difference. So far it seems to be 10-20 degrees. Snowy Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Another NEFF lover here. My Circotherm must be about 13 years old now, the seal is broken and it needs a good clean, but I love it. I have a Belling double built in oven, I have had it for about 5 years and replaced the fan element 3 times. It cooks well and looks smart when clean, but has quite a few inaccessible parts and the grease tends to get onto the fan which you can't clean. ubereglu Posted September 20, 2009 Share Posted September 20, 2009 We have a Creda fan oven, (double oven) and have had it for 12 or 13 years. It's really good and although the light in the fan oven has died, we've only really had to replace the seal for it. It's also quite good as it's reasonably tall and the top oven can also be used as a grill, which is very handy and a reasonable height unlike some of the other makes, where you have to sit on the floor to use the grill! Lesley Posted September 20, 2009 Share Posted September 20, 2009 I'd had Neff for some years and had just replaced it with an all singing, all dancing version before we found the farm and moved out We now have a multifuel Stoves (LPG gas rings and electric oven) and have had no problems with that. It's an odd size (800mm) and we only had a choice of 2 so I was pleased that one was Stoves as they are still British owned and made, or they were 3 years ago, so I was told when I asked.
