Plum
It will take a while to get to know his friends, you were probably a bit shy.
Chickvic
I wouldn't worry too much about meeting his friends, the first time I met my boyfriends (now DH!) friends I passed out I hadn't been well but it had been arranged for a while so I still went! craftyhunnypie
Good luck for Sunday lunch tomorrow. Just remember to say thanks that was loviely & thanks for having me to his parents & you'll be fine. His friends just might not know what to talk to you about or simply wish that you were with them instead! Emma.x
Space Chick
It may be an idea to go armed with a box of chocs or bunch of flowers for his mum, and hand them when you say "Thanks for inviting me". I agree with the Major re his friends. Have fun tomorrow, be yourself and don't be nervous, and remember to report back
chickenNutter
He sounds like a nice old-fashioned boy to me - can't go wrong. (I have a sort of mental picture of a young Major Bloodnock) Parents at this stage - he must think a lot of you. I wouldn't worry about the friends thing, it always takes a little while to get tuned into to other people's friends. Have a lovely time tomorrow, and don't forget to report back to your Omlet Aunties and Uncle Bloodnok.
Donna_0
How lovely! I remember those days! Don't worry about the friends..they're probably just a bit on edge because it was the first time they had met you. It's fab he's being a gent as well. Meeting the parents is a good sign though Aaah I remember those days..Sigh. Plus side I am still really happy with OH after 7 years of being together. You must let us know how it turns out, I think all of us omleteers are on tenderhooks! -Pekin- Fleur -Pekin- Little Pickle Georgie the cat x

majorbloodnock
..(I have a sort of mental picture of a young Major Bloodnock)... I'm amazed you have a mental picture of the older MB on which to base it.
Valkyrie
I remember a time long ago when they did the Goons on the Telly (and listening with my dad to the radio too) - I sort of remember the weird thing that represented MB - hope you're not remotely like that! Bluebottle sticks in my mind more though - very scarey!
majorbloodnock
I remember a time long ago when they did the Goons on the Telly (and listening with my dad to the radio too) - I sort of remember the weird thing that represented MB - hope you're not remotely like that! Given Major Dennis Bloodnok as a character was small minded, weak willed, cowardly, selfish and greedy, and was portrayed by Peter Sellers who, despite his comic talents, shared many of those attributes, I also hope I'm not too much like that. Mind you, one of the character's hallmarks was raging flatulence, and for that I give no guarantees
Valkyrie
We have so many of the Goons records on 78's! I used to hide behind the chair for the raspberries in the Ying Tong Song - I thought it was some huge monster! It's a well loved song in this family - we even had it at dad's funeral last year - which we all sang along and rasped away to! Dad always liked Eccles, while all his brothers were other characters. In my teens I became Spotty Minnie Bannister - for obvious reasons!
chickenNutter
..(I have a sort of mental picture of a young Major Bloodnock)... I'm amazed you have a mental picture of the older MB on which to base it. Like Koojie I was brought up with the goons on the wireless, and the Navy Lark etc. Aaah! I remember those Sunday Lunches. So I am afraid I have had the mental picture for a while now MB. Hope the young man in question is less of a womaniser though!
