My Daytrip with Palmer07 to a breeder.....

Recommended Posts

:lol::lol: It's snowing feathers here! We have them dangling from the guttering on the greenhouse. I am hoping none has gone next door.

Well well well I didn't see that coming at all! :liar::lol: Oh I love the Spitbottoms (well that's what I call them anyway) - it's the funky hairdo. And since I've had this month's Smallholding magazine, my mum has been ooohing and aaahing at the silkies. What pretty girlies.

Glad you had a safe journey home Palmer07 with your new additions and good day had by all.

The pictures are from the breeder...will get some more tomorrow.

I thought they were bantams but when we got there I realised they were LF....but they were TOO cute to leave behind :D

Thanks for all the kind comments, I am very pleased with my new additions :D

Of course it was a complete co-incidence I had made the run extension

I only went to the breeder to keep Em company :liar:

Tasha - I think Maria is about 26-30 weeks old, so they are not very young.

8) Maria is an unusual colour isnt she? very pretty, both of them - is your chook family complete yet? :!:

How old are they? Maria has quite a big comb........ :anxious:

These are birthday present from OH (not that he knows yet :anxious: ) and yes, chooky family is complete. WIR is now at capacity less one and the bantams are to put it politey....little tinkers :D Still have a few on the wishlist but need to win the lottery and move first!

They are 30 weeks...and yes  ...I was thinking the same thing about Marias comb earlier but there are no wattles to speak of and she has the stupid girly tail. The breeder said she is a blue silkie but I have never seen that kind of blue...she is brownish....but still pretty!

Such pretty fluffies. Sioux's feathers are very smokey grey when they come through new, but they start to go brown as they age - apart from the pantaloons and they seem to fade to pale grey/white - very similar to Marias, so her brown feathers sound like older ones - just in time for a moult perhaps?
