I went to our local farm today to pick up some food for the chickens.

 

I 'accidentally' came home with something else.

 

A skyline with a very nice hairdo. Brother wants to call her Cassie, but I’m not very keen on the name. I don’t think she looks like a Cassie to me. What do you all think?

 

A Gold Laced Wyandotte, my favourite chicken in the world, currently unnamed. And a reverse Sussex, named Minnie by my Mum.

 

I was going to wait until next spring for more, but I couldn’t not get them! They were so lovely.

They are lovely girls. How old are they? The reason is ask is because your GLW looks more developed in the comb department than mine, who is 32 weeks old (and has been laying for a couple of weeks), don't think you'll have to wait long for eggs

I don't know the exact age of my Wyandotte, but she has been laying for a bit according to the place where we got her from. The two hybrids are probably about probably 22 weeks or older, I would say, as Minnie the reverse Sussex has just laid an egg. Very small, so probably one of her first eggs!

After a large debate over the dinner table, we have finally named the Skyline Cassie, although after your suggestions of Phoenix, I thought it sounded better. But as it was my brother's hen, he chose. The Gold Laced Wyandotte is now called Guinevere.

these chickens arriving form no where, i went to my friends house yesterday for coffee and chat and came home with a white cockeral he is about 15 weeks and was being bullied by the other 3 cockerals so he has come to live with my 3 ladies he has been named Henry and loves the ladies
