I put some in the compost bins (I now have 2) but I recently started putting it straight onto the flowerbeds. It makes them look very tidy (it hides the weeds ).

compost bin, it makes fantastic compost and breaks down really quickly.

we put ours on Freecycle - you know "Chicken Compost and bedding - great for compost" I always have more than enough takers!!

I started by Freecycling but now I have three ladies that take it in turns

 

They responded to my first freecycle add and said that they would take as much as I had!

 

I just do a run clean, leave the bags out the front, ping an email and when I get home from work the next day the poop is gone!

 

In fact.....the poo is almost as popular as their eggs!

Funnily enough we just cleaned ours out today. OH put it all on his vegetable beds, flower beds and compost bins. it all went on there and we have quite a large WIR.

We have 4 compost bins and share it around them, plus deep trench grow stuff on the allotment - the potatoes grown on a trench of this were so much bigger than the others - it is put straight into trench, not composted first.

I thought about doing that but what about the flies or do you just do it in Autumn/Winter?

I like the sound of throwing on the borders but have a pooch with a poop fettish and i just know she'd hoover it all up. I like the trench idea though. Has anyone noticed increased foxy attention by spreading it around their garden though?

I am planning to put some between the rows of Garlic I have just planted,as a nutrient & hopefully a weed suppressant too.

It may even work at keeping slugs at bay,as they don't like to go over loose stuff....

 

Have got rid of it on Freecycle too, & I new have a list of contacts who are waiting for it (I have a huge walk in run,so we get very large job lots of it,several times a year)

I certainly haven't noticed any flies. To be honest the poop is all dried up by the bedding so there are no obvious clumps of it anyway .
