Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Just wanted to post about how brilliant I am finding the new Waitrose Essentials range of food & products

 

I am trying to shop more in Waitrose (nothing to do with daughter working there & a discount for the whole family after Chritsmas ) & unlike some budget ranges I have tried,this stuff is actually on par with brand names

I love Waitrose and find the quality worth the few pence extra. The essentials range is really good

I like waitrose too I use their own brand dishwasher tablets and am just trying their washpowder tablets and all are fine!

 

I looked recently at shopping Sainsburys on line (& Tesco which I am not fond of..pile it high shop) and the delivery charges were expensive. I do think Sainsburys is good quality food as well.

 

Everything we buy from Waitrose we use so I dont find it expensive in that respect(plus delivery pricing is variable, late night is fine for me)!

I don't like the essentials

 

Cos it's all the stuff I always bought but in different packages. And the packages were distinctly different before but are subtly different now. Twice I'vebought wholemeal bread flour when I wanted white I tend to shop in a rush as I have a whiney 7 year old in tow!

Its a shame you can't shop when he is at school,isn't it?

I used to loath shopping with the children when they were little,but now they are older they have become useful in a 'darn it ,I have forgotten the onions' kind of way.

We buy quite of lot of the essentials range through Ocado too and agree regarding the quality.

I am now careful to check the price when buying the essential range as found that sometimes (red onions) they are actually more expensive than the standard range. I pointed this out to them and they couldn't really come up with why

We don't either, that's why we use Ocado (delivery service that sell Waitrose products, but a different company to Waitrose) - if you go to www.ocado.com and type in your postcode it will tell you whether it deliverys to your house.

I am very excited. We have just found out that a brand new Waitrose is being opened 10 miles away and they deliver

I like it too! I'm registered with My waitrose & get sent coupons quite often for free food. So far we've had kebabs, coconut macaroons & a large pizza - all totally free! woohoo. Sorry, I should have told you all before. Naughty selfish person I am!

I to love Waitrose and their quality is generally excellent with one exception - their Essentials Ice Cream. It is just like eating frozen water and it is supposed to be a creamy vanilla - even my OH, who is not particularly fussy about what ice cream he eats, refused to eat it and we ended up flushing it down the sink!!!!

 

Everything else I have found though is fine and as our store is smallish I can be in and out in under 30 mins

Yes, another vote for Waitrose Essentials. Very good quality. We get ours delivered from Ocado. We did try Waitrose home shopping once and they were missing a lot of stuff and the substitutions were not intelligent. However their online catering service for parties (sandwiches and so on) is great.

I love them too. I refuse to shop at Te$co, which is nearest to me. And getting out to buy stuff is hard as time is short... then I get home and find that I can't park in the street, let alone outside my house delivery is ideal for me.

Another big Waitrose fan here too. I have shopped there for as long as I can remember. My son has worked for them in the past and my daugther currently works there while she's at college, discount card coming in 2 weeks! Not that I'm counting the days or anything, can't wait to do some Christmas shopping in John Lewis!
