Does anybody feel ..... Part # 12

Recommended Posts

:vom: Eeeewwwwwwwww Lewis! Fingers crossed for your brother.

Glad Grandad is doing fine, Debs.

Been to visit Egg Lou today - saw her chickens. Er her lovely little black silkie (also called Squirt) had been bathing in her veggie patch. She was sooo muddy on her tummy - probably decided "ugh it's cold and wet" before going for the total covering! In fact I think she was the only one - everyone else just had muddy feet! Erin came too and held one of the Pekins who decided it was too blooming cold (we'd just missed a snow flurry but caught it on the way over in the car) and decided to zip back into the cube run! We saw those as fluffy babies just hatching last year, although mum was with me that time.

She has the most beautiful young Brahma - well hatched Eggy.

Couldn't sleep so came to say hello. I thought crazy peeps were on at this time. :D

Hope your brother is ok Lewis, I haven't read back to catch up what's happening. Wish your grandad well Debs.

I'll come back when Teabag has the kettle on. :D

Poor Josh - how silly - there's only a short while before school closes for the hols anyway. They used to do that here too - they only played games when they got there so a waste of time - think it's to do with their record keeping.

Poor Plum - I was up, but only to put a dressing gown on the bed because I got cold.

Finished school for christmas

Someone told one of the Biology teachers about the ducks and one might be a boy and we should get duckings and he seemed happy to do it :)

My grandad and his wife went on a Tinsel and Turkey coach trip thing ... a third of the coach went to a different hotel where there was no tinsel or turkey  They complained and were told they could go to the 'santa disco' thing at the other hotel but they still didn't get their christmas dinner ... oh how he moaned  Still, not very good.

Might have a driving lesson in a bit if its not snowed off

They shut all Brum schools last year and the person was slated all over the papers and radio, so I doubt we'll have a snow day any time soon :(

Gosh Fred, you haven't had much luck this year as a cyclist. I would recommend you revert to being a pedestrian!!

The girls water had frozen  I thought it wouldn't with the 30 litre drinker. Also Rose has cut her back (I don't know how, but it was during free ranging) so she is now a purple chicken and is BIG style sulking with me for spraying her!! And Big Suze is STILL broody

Also, with a broody, 3 moulters and a not started laying girl, I had to BUY eggs today because of all the cooking I need to do. BUY EGGS!!!!! ME!!!!! WITH 12 CHICKENS!!!!! As you can probably tell this upsets me a bit :lol:

Never mind Chicky - you are home and you are free

Hello all, I've spent most of the afternoon in bed, feel ill, haven't been able to keep anything down. Sipping on some squash now in the hope that stays down.

Hope you're ok Fred, wasn't that a fairly new bike?

No sign of snow here, had a tiddly bit yesterday teatime but it didn't come to much.

Afternoon all :D

School's over 8)

Ahh, don't worry Debsie, they will lay eventually

I can't remember the last time we had an egg from our chickens.

I must have looked quite funny to the neighbours this morning as I was in my pyjamas stabbing frozen water in the back garden

Hope you feel better soon PT :) x

You too, Fred and Bikey.

I saw it earlier :)

New neighbours have caused a bit of a stir

They've put this big white/silver rock on the grass out the front of the other sides house to stop 'a silver car' parking there. We don't know who the car is, but those neighbours went around to the new ones to ask why its there and she was a bit funny and wouldn't move it

Off to the panto in a bit :D - Mother and father are watching tonight.

Howdy folks. Hope those snuffles and such are all sorted before next week. Ooh Fred - glad it wasn't you that got run over. Bikes can always be fixed or replaced.

 @ poor Deb's lack of eggs and commiserations.#

The only one of my girls to venture out to the house was Squirt - everyone else stayed in the cube run or just outside it.

The road at the back is really bad - like a skating rink. From the tyre marks in the snow it is easy to see where people have crunched into the roundabout and bollards. Not me - I'm perfect. Actually Lewis this is the best time to be a learner in these conditions - you are with the right person to talk you through it - maybe even practice skidding. Still, the main roads are fine - just the back roads are tricky. At mums my car decided to slide out of the drive into the road - thankfully the bonnet was just over the kerb - and it had the handbrake on!

Mum's man came to fix her tank and leaky pipe. Turns out that when the house was built instead of putting in a proper stopcock for the tank, they put a toilet one in - and the overflow wasn't fixed up to overflow - hence leaking into the loft and into the bedrooms below. When he arrived he was told it was the outside overflow leaking. Nooooo it was indoors and Muz told the insurance that - and when they called I told them too.

So the guy took off the lagging which was sopping wet and mended the darn thing. We then had to get more lagging - and seeing as we are in for a freeze - off we went to Homebas and B&Q. Both had the same sort of lagging and neither had one for a large circular tank. So we bought a couple of rolls of ordinary lagging and I went up the ladder to put it in. What a pallaver - two nails ripped off below the join - ouch! Still it has some lagging on as a temporary measure and we're off to Wickes tomorrow. Whoopee.
