Angels4
I've got the new girls (3) seperated from the original 3 at the moment as a quarantine which was suggested to me by the lady I got them from just to be sure I was not introducing any illness to my original flock. The suggested time frame is 30 days and I've had the new girls since 6Dec. They are healthy and happy in themselves. With the freezing cold temps we have been having minus 6 celcius I think it would be warmer for the girls to intergrate the two seperate flocks of 3 into the cube at this time, that way they can huddle together for warmth. I know introductions should be handled slowly, but my thought is to wait until this evening and just place the new girls in through the egg port. Besides the warmth for the girls I am on "staycation" for the next two weeks and will be able to supervise any issues of bullying. What would you do? sjp
I was told 14 days quarantine when I got my 3 in June but I wasn't going to put mine together for nearly 3 months due to the age differance. just let them out together
beulah59
I was going to wait a month ... but the newbies want out! So I've been free ranging them together in the garden when we're here to supervise. I can wait longer before roosting them together, but it's a start. Patricia W
I'd be inclined to let them sleep together for warmth, but be prepared to separate them during the day. Tricia
Space Chick
I agree with Tricia, put them together at night Mark. BTW - Thankyou for posting your water heater tin. MY OH made one yesterday and it works a treat

Plum
Me too but take your time in the day. But don't think its a blank 30 days you just have to play it by ear and watch their behaviour. They'll probably tell you when they want to be together in the day.
Angels4
I agree with Tricia, put them together at night Mark. BTW - Thankyou for posting your water heater tin. MY OH made one yesterday and it works a treat I'm glad it worked out for you. Unfortunatly it didn't keep the water from freezing here last night as it dropped to minus 6C here last night. I think the problem is I'm only using a 25 watt bulb and the tin is a bit smaller than the waterer, I am going to try and make the adjustments today.
