You can buy dust-extracted shavings (horse bedding) but I found it impossible to get rid of the dirty stuff - just won't compost! If you bin it, then it's not a problem but if you prefer to compost, Aubiose/Hemcore/Easibed would be better :) You're right to get the WIR walls covered first, so it stays dry and the bedding doesn't blow around

We swapped from hardwood chips to Aubiose this week and the girls love it!

Ooh, just thought - you'll probably need to put a 4 inch+ border up around the bottom of the run (we use the plastic, green lawn edging) just to stop the monkeys flicking it all out as fast as you put it in

Hi, I'm about to get the chooks, but I want to make sure everything's sorted given the weather. I have some slabs I thought I'd put the Eglu on in winter (lawn summer), but not much space, so if I can I want to avoid creating the 4m x 1.8m area that Omlet suggest in the Guide for putting an eglu on woodchip.

Does this mean I could fix the lawn edging to the run to keep the aubiose in and avoid having to create that larger space around the outside of the eglu?

Do I fix it INSIDE the run?

Suggestions on how to fix the edging to the eglu please?

Many thanks,

Andrew
