Sarahsausage
I've had my new girls, Hilda and Gwen, for about a month now and they are still living separately to Betty and Gladys, they all free-range together but there are still bouts of pecking and bullying going on. I guess it is going to take a while before they are happy to live together as they only get to free-range at the weekends as it is dark by the time I get home. Will they ever be happy together? I've heard that spraying them all with a bit of perfume or aftershave helps bonding, I must admit the two new girls do smell different to Bet and Gladys, would this help or not? Why do chickens have to be such complicated creatures!
Tutti Frutti
I don't know! But when you find out, please tell Roxy It sounds just like my girls really, They hated each other but about 3 weeks after getting the barnies, I came home from work and Tallulah had somehow crossed the divide and joined my original 2. So they merged when they were ready, not when I was prepared! Hope it settles soon
coco
My girls were still having bouts of bullying pecking when the ex batts decided to move into the big house with the others. We still have a bit of bullying now and then, I think its been worse the last week as less FR. Generally they all get on and live in almost harmony. yours should settle down eventually. Sarahsausage
I guess I'm just going to have to be patient! I just want the newbies to have a bit more room than they have now but they seem happy enough
