Hi, that is a fab run. Excellent quality and I like the platform for the eglu. I have terrible garage envy and also run envy. I still haven't done any work on mine since last year due to the weather. I was outside putting panels together in the bitter cold and snow wishing I had a garage. lol lol.

Is the side of the run that's on grass going to be fox proof? I was thinking you might need some slabs down.

Well we are pretty much finished..... Just need to sort some perches, logs and levels inside.

The garage has been swept hoovered and dusted!!! The car now fits perfectly in

As for the run I am so pleased with the outcome, I love it and the girls seem happy to and Lily has shown her gratitude with laying her first egg this morning! :D It took Minka a few days to get the hang of a ladder although she isn't the brightest of the bunch!

The hatch to put the food in has been a great success, its closest to my back door and saves the girls rushing out especially on a work morning when there isn't much time.

OH added 2 door stops at the front of the eglu today so it has something to butt up to so ensures in correct place.

The happy girls!

I like the little door for feeders :)

Grrr, you've just made me realise my beautiful WIR isn't, in fact, perfect  . I could have done with a little door just like that  .

*puts thinking cap on to see if I could fix one retrospectively* .

I'm thinking I could do them to before it all goes up, but I think getting it built would be a start!

I really can't get my head around where to put the eglu's + wendy house inside, so where I'll need the doors

I spent hours trying to decide that, Lewis  . Try to picture your girls in the run and also yourself collecting eggs, cleaning the eglu, shutting the eglu door, etc, and imagine the best layout for all those things :) . Easy :D:liar::wink: .

I've drawn the floor space out and am planning to cut out a 4x4 and 2, 3x3ft pieces so we can put the on the plan (the grass is marked out with bamboo too nerd_emoticon.gif)

- the Go will have to go under a table with the (green eglu) on top I think, to save space, but just realised we'll need a tiny door behind it because the Go opens from behind! - 1st flaw in its design

Lewis I've done a scale picture of the area, run and cube as well and keep trying different combinations but it still keeps me awake at night.

Tips - think where will be most sheltered that will probably be best for houses and perhaps have them away from a side so you can open the Go :? . Where can you open the door without banging a perch or the house? Where is an area for food water that is near a door?

I wonder if the door is best away from where you approach the run so they don't queue up to run out. Dream on

I still haven't worked out my plan :D I have had a man round to give me a quote for concrete base though and digging away some of my hill and putting a retaining wall in.

Not sure if I'm following this correctly but, having just spent a while cleaning my girls' Classic, got me thinking... doesn't the Eglu also need space behind it - to slide open the poo tray? If it's on a table above the Go, you might need a slightly taller door!

I'll just swivel the (green eglu) round on the table to clean it out :D

We tend to leave the eglu open so wouldn't need to close it every night, so will just walk in to get at the next box.

We'd have to get at the Go everyday, so will use the little door behind it, instead of having to pull it forward all the time :)

just to confirm, our eglu is on a table in the corner and is no problem at all to spin it round to get the poo tray out :D if that helps at all :D

Ditto :D .

A tip: I have a large piece of old lino on top of my table. It makes the eglu really easy to spin round and is also easy to clean 8) . (It also protects the wooden table from the elements a bit!)

AHA!!! Mine's a nightmare to move and now the penny's dropped - it's just on a wooden frame, like a table without the top! Good reason to get a proper table  You've got me planning now - Eglu on table, dust bath underneath instead of beside, freeing up a whole lot of floor space 8) Cue another trip to Ikea :)

Thank you folks!
