Space Chick
Its a Morphy Richards fastbake that I have Cooks, so I can help you My perfect bread recipe coming up: 150mls skimmed milk 150mls tepid water in first, then add 450g good quality bread flour in one corner add 3 teaspoons sugar in another corner 2 teaspoons salt Then make a well in the centre of the flour and add 1 dried yeast packet I always do it on setting 8 (dough only) Then put it in a greased bread tin, cover with a tea towel, and leave to rise for an hour, then bake in an oven preheated at Gas Mark 6, 400f, 200c for 25 minutes (put a tray of water in the base of the oven as that creates steam to make a crispy crust) Good luck Cooks
Cooks
awww thanks, I got confused cos it started kneading (loudly) then a while later stopped and the machine looked off so I whipped it out and finished by hand.. Looks like I was a tad premature from what others have told me.. I think the machine was resting... will try again tomorrow or monday.
Redwing
Bread machines rest a lot I dont know why but they do Its not like its tiring sitting on a worktop, they are so over-reacting

chick wiggle
Good luck with the breadmaker Cooks, i gave up using mine and gave it away Enjoy your job in the charity shop Em I got a wonderful bargain in the Bernardos charity shop today It was some sort of towel rail or something but to me it was instantly a chicken perch thing I will post pictures of it tomorro. I got some pipe insulation covers to go over the 'perches' as they were too thin. £4. for the stand and £2. for the pipe covers = bargain! Just hope the little madams like it My car passed it MOT today Full service and mot £169. another bargain i thought.
Lewis
2 bargains! Good idea to use a towel rail as a perch - we have one in the spare room - I think mother might notice though Lewis is off to bed - night
Space Chick
Scary this is, as I was in Asda with my sister after football yesterday (I know how to live ) and I saw a towel rail, and I said to Fred "I wonder if I could make that into a perch" to which she replied "you've just picked up a giant dustbath for them". Well my plans for this morning have been scuppered, I was planning to clean the run and cube first thing this morning, then have breakfast and a shower, then go to Grandads. However, when I let Henry out at 5.30 this morning, we have had a few inches of snow. After I came back to bed I could hear heavy rain. I have just let Henry out again, and it is looking part snow, part ice rink So, for starters I don't want to be cleaning out the girls in that, secondly, it may be too much of a risk to take the car out this morning to go to Grandads I'm not happy
ClaireG
More snow here to Got up to go to the loo at 6-15 and itwas coming down fast, it's still falling now but has slowed a bit and is normal not giant sized flakes. Am so glad we got the bantams run done yesterday. Simon is going to try and get outthe driveway and up the road in a few minutes as he is working in London again today. I'm not going!!! I just he doesn't have as many problems as he had on Thursday.
Valkyrie
and ensuite ... because I'm a bit wierd about sharing shower blocks with people Not weird at all - I feel exactly the same - which is why I never do camping. Interesting day so far, slipped on black ice with 2 bowls of chicken breakfast. Smack on my back - good job I have ample blubber to protect me - and slid down the slope until my feet rested against the greenhouse door. To say that I had mud where no mud has gone before would be about right. One bowl was fine the other showered all over me and around the front of the greenhouse. Funnily enough this morning was the only one that the girls did not start whingeing. I think they heard the tone of my voice whilst swearing and thought better of it. So up for a bath I go. Meanwhile mumsie is pestering Murray to check up on me - until it drove him potty. Well since then I must have bruised my shoulder a bit and pulled my neck (I was determined not to let my head smack on the slabs) - done a Cookie - so a few Ibuprofen down the hatch and hope it goes away. Since the rain on ice this morning we have had sleet and sun, but at least the ice on the ground has melted in the sun. Glad the bread machine mystery has been sorted. My car is one of the recalled ones and I'm waiting for a phone call in the next couple of months. Aye carumba!
emily95
Poor you Kooj! I hope you feel better soon. And how annoying about your car! I had a great time in the charity shop. They kept asking me if I would stay and come back next week. Yesss, that is sort of the idea..... There was a strange man carrying a nut cracker round the shop for a while, he brought it in with him, wandered around and then left... . Hehe. I have a name badge and a red apron that I have to wear too. My mum thought it was very funny when she came to pick me up. Em xxx
Space Chick
Well I braved the elements and did clean the run this morning, and I did go to Grandads but took Phils car, as its more practical. However, as the sun has been out all the snow and ice have melted I also called in my friends to drop eggs off and her sister was around with her 4 month old baby son, so I had baby snuggles I also went shopping to my local garden centre which is always fun, and went to Wilkinsons to get some bits and pieces for the Hen Party next weekend, and also bought some 6ft canes, however, I turned around when carrying them and knocked down a display Everyone in the shop thought it was hilarious, I was mortified I also bought some wooden broom handles for the girls as they don't like their new plastic perches as they slip on them Also, I am going to need a new purpose for the big trug I bought yesterday as its too big as a dustbath, they just keep looking at it Was planning on doing some planting this afternoon, but don't feel like it now, I think I'd rather spend time in the run with the girls, and I haven't changed my bedding yet this weekend, so I need to do that Gosh this was a Koojie-esque post By the way Koojie matey, I send you healing hugs xx Glad it went well in the charity shop yesterday Em

Space Chick
Well I don't know where time goes when you sit in the run We had some grape mugging fun, and then some relaxation time. They could be in or out, and different girls decided to keep me company at different times. However, for the last half hour, they were shut in with me. I feel so honoured to be sat in there with them whilst they dustbathe and preen Only thing is I am tired now, and still haven't changed my bedding Off to do it now, and then I will make a start on our tea
Valkyrie
Hi peeps again. Yes - more a bruised ego! As usual "Ooops, word censored!"ody was there to help. I'm amazed I wasn't heard swearing either! Ibuprofen seems to have kicked in, I was only shallow breathing earlier. It'll go soon, just a bump, thankies peeps. Erin is making more cup cakes - malted ones this time and I was on hand to help her lick the mixer whisks. Bad girl Kooj - Cookie you'd better not read this. Poor Debs - my brother did that in the newsagents once - he put his hand out of the pushchair and down came the stack of postcards all over the place. I ran out of the shop and left mum in there. She was a bit miffed with me. Glad you enjoyed your day Em - thought you would. We have 2 charity shops - the other one is always empty and looks very old fashioned. There are little old ladies that glare at people, so not surprising everybody goes to Erin's friendly one. Do keep an eye out for shoplifting - you'd be amazed it does happen (well here anyway). Velly interlesting Chickles - who's been snap happy today then? Koojie still manages to do the Koojie style posting! Hah Queen of Waffle!

Lewis
Thats what ours looks like Sandie - might have to keep my eyes open ... hope they like it!? Not a good day for crazers then! - I wouldn't have laughed at either if you if I was there Hope doc's is ok tomorrow cooks. Lewis is looking for a table for the eglu to go on, that the Go can sit underneath ... saw one for £20 in Costco but wasn't sure if it was strong enough, it was metal, but the legs folded down like a pasting table so wasn't sure it was the best one to use A school desk (I think ANH had one) would be ideal, just don't know where to buy one from! Trying to find ways to make the WIR a bit more exciting when its done - its 8 and a bit sq metres so enough for what we have, but if we wanted to get a few more need a bit more floor space ... saying that 3 of them are only littlies
