....... to clear snow off your walk in run roof :( .

Or if you do, do it gently :? . I couldn't work out why there were so many damp patches in the WIR yesterday till I looked up and saw half a dozen holes in the roof  . I thought the snow and ice had done it then realised it must have been when we raked the snow off.

I'm so annoyed with myself :( .

tarp tape from Tarpaflex will help, its very sticky indeed

I have a rubber broom with an extending handle that I got from the Kleeneze man, it has rubber 'bristles' on one side a squeegee type blade on the other, its great for clearing snow as it doesnt go soggy

I also used it for clearing snow off the car (gently!) no cold hands that way  and its brilliant for laminate and tiled floors too

Its like this:

this is where I love my corrugated steel roof, its very hardy. I do know how you feel though as years ago we used to have a carport on the side of our house (previous house) and that use to get holes in it really easily. It hailed one day and that was it... it was like a colander

Oh dear. I can only think that the cold caused the polycarbonate roof material to become very brittle, causing the points on the rake to make puncture holes.

When I was putting the roof on my WIR I put one screw hole in the wrong place (missed the baton underneath ). I found a generous drop of clear Bostik glue applied from the top of the roof did the trick. It went through the hole, forming a small pear-shaped drop on the underside of the WIR roof. Within 2hrs this set, sealing the hole - perfect .

Oh no, how annoying for you !

We have just found that our roof has been distorted, by the weight of the snow we think. We have to overlap two sheets of corrugated plastic and where they overlap we are getting drips. We cant even reach it to push it back into place because of the wire panels underneath it. So, tomorro i am going to buy a length of gutter to hang underneath the drips, inside the run, and have it coming outside the run into yet another water butt  does that make sense?

I've got some tarp tape - that will do in the meantime (I can't face redoing the roof just for a few wee holes :? ).

I think the problem was that we had to fling the rake over the roof to reach far enough (holding the handle obviously!). I thought the snow was deep enough to take the brunt but the tines must have hit the roof directly in a few places :( .

Hail stones are what caused my run roof to have about 8 holes.

I have used tape and so far it's ok but does look a bit naff.

I also have the leak problem from over lapped panels.

In the summer I want to find a way to make the roof proper water proof and strong ready for next winter.

No idea how yet :?
