smudgley
I hope someone can help. I have 42 eggs in my incubator which has just died. I really need to borrow an incubator urgently to try & hatch these eggs. If anyone can help at all please get in touch. Many thanks.
Redwing
I'm sorry both of mine are in use, when are the eggs due to hatch?
laurmurf
Alison at Hook Farm hires out incubators http://www.chickenkeeper.co.uk/incubator-hire/incubator-hire-nursery.php
Raina
Hi, Try checking the fuse in the plug,It might need changing
TAJ
Checking fuse would be a good start 42 eggs means a big incy needed, I am not sure if any of the hire ones would do this number as usually for school projects and small home batches. Let's hope you get it working again. Tracy
Lewis
It might be a bit far, but you could always borrow my home made incy - I'm in Sutton Coldfield? It won't hold 42 and is manual turn but you'd be able to save some of them. Maybe get the heat lamp from your brooder on them for now, just to keep them warm and then check what has gone on the incy and see if you can get it back working. smudgley
Thanks everyone for your replies. The eggs are on day 8. It's not the fuse as the incubator is working for the turning of the eggs, just the temperature won't hold. It's only staying at 80degrees, although we have been able to keep the temperature at about 98-100 most of the day by having the incubator sit on top of an electric radiator. Although this is not ideal. I really want to save the eggs as they are the breeds I really want. I had to book the day off work to go and collect the eggs & now I may loose them all. The offer to borrow the home-made incuabator is very generous & I would love to, if I can get to Sutton Coldfield soon.
