It made my day (little moments of win)

Recommended Posts

I don't know if any of you are familiar with IMMD,but it is a lovely site where people put silly little things that have happened in their life, which made their day.

You can always find something sweet, funny or inspiring on there :P

Thought I would start something similar on here so.............................

I have just heard that a Police officer of my acquaintance, who was a complete pain when he policed Henley at the start of his career, has been jailed for 4 years for corruption. It Made My Day 8)

If you're talking about Ali Dizaei then I totally agree. Best thing for the Met in a long time.

Horrible little man - I really felt for the poor victim he must have felt very isolated. Thank goodness justice prevailed. He could have an 'interesting' time in prison

Couldn't agree more, made my day too - I like to see justice prevail :D

Looks like his Karma came right back and bit him in the bum big time!

What is The National Association of Black Police Officers?

Is there a White association or a Christian association?

What happened to the police being just The Police?

Sorry mods .............

I remember Andrew Marr's interview with this horrid man.

Anyway,

My daughter just won a very coveted role at Drama school and I am over the moon.

She is a real tomboy but is playing Juliet :?

It was excellent news. So glad he was found out. The poor guy who he accused must have been so worried that he wouldn't be believed.

I'd not heard of IMMD - another site to peruse :lol:

Just found this on the IMMD site - brilliant 8)

As I was walking into a convenience store, I held the door for a middle aged woman who was walking up. She said ” Don’t hold the door because I’m a woman!”. I responded with “It’s because you’re old.” The look on her face and the laughing clerk made my day.

That reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago.

The person relating the story was apparently in a supermarket, dashing through to collect a couple of essentials on the way home. Given his haste and the paucity of his basket, he joined the queue for the "10 items or fewer" checkout*. However, he quickly noticed the person in front had a trolley overflowing with items, so politely coughed and drew the latter's notice to the "number of items" sign.

"Yes, yes, yes!", declared the latter crossly. "I can read."

"I'm glad to hear it," said our raconteur, "but can you count?"

*Yes, I know it usually says "10 items or less", but this is my one and only chance to publicly stamp my grammatically correct foot, so don't spoil it for me.....

I've got one that happened last week.

My friend and I order our potatoes from a young lad at the local farm. He knows us well enough, so when my friend phoned him to order the last lot she greeted him with ' hi, got any spuds to spare?' after a long pause an elderly voice said ' I think I've a few in the cupboard, whereabouts are you? I can post you a few if you're desperate' :o She was mortified to have dialled the wrong number, but the way the old guy answered her made my day
