poachedegg
Because we have quite a few chickens and therefore quite a few eggs, I bought this wicker basket from Wilkinsons last week for only £2 and thought it may be of use to others with lots of eggs to collect :

Cinnamon
Nice. I have been using my husbands wooly hat this week, & I use a gorgeous big straw Stetson that I also wear in the garden in the summer

I really like the basket and price Thats why I ended up getting one, last week I didn't have enough hands so put one in my pocket, leant into scoop the poo in the nest box and splat all over my pocket! Chook n Boo Mum
I usually pop them in my pocket (and sometimes find them when I get to work ). I really like the basket and price ............I pull my gloves out & they are all messy ............or someone knocks against me, maybe for a cuddle & the world goes slow with that odd scrunching noise We also have a collecting basket, it's recycled from a "plant in a basket with a handle" gift many years ago , but I rarely remember to take it with me Sha x
Seagazer
That would be a good idea if I had more girls, at the moment i just carry them in my hands. last time i thought I'd quickly clean the nesting box out and put the trug down on top of the eggs
AmberSky
That is definitely the worst, i hate going to collect the eggs and dropping one because im trying to carry too many, i now use a bucket to carry new wood-chip to the coop and carry the new laid eggs in same bucket leaving a little wood-chip in the bottom to protect them. Falkor
I remember the days when my basket came back indoors with me with only one egg.....today I have 13 "we are going to need a bigger boat!!" sorry basket I dropped OSH's first ever egg....i was so excited, dancing around the garden and bangin on the patio doors for OH to see that it slipped out of my hand and onto the mat... TAJ
I must admit I never saw the need for a basket carrying 3-4 eggs in my hands was fine - then I started getting 5 some days and thought may be I need a rethink, then the numbers went down for winter. Yesterday I had 7 eggs, so two trips needed and thoughts turned to an egg collection basket again. Tracy
ubereglu
Very classy. I don't really get enough eggs to justify a basket that big!
