Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 14

Recommended Posts

Evening all :D

Its been an exciting chook day today :D

Nyssa has laid her first egg  They say the best things come to those who wait, she's only a year old

Also we had our first egg from Dorothea - not her first, but our first. Dorotheas is more of an off white colour, Nyssas was brilliant white :D

Dorothea has been bullying Tegan a bit today, nothing nasty just chasing and showing her who's boss :(

I decided to let them both have the run of the WIR again tonight whilst the big girls were out free ranging, what I didn't realise is that Romana was still in, in the nesting box. However, she was a perfect lady and didn't have a go at either of them, so she is now top of my free ranging with newbies list for the weekend

wayy to go Nyssa and Dorothea

the girls here have not liked me much today (although I told them it wa Ems fault  ) they are being wormed this week so less free ranging, they are only being allowed out in the afternoon after they have munched their pellets..

Flubenvet works though, I am worming mine at the moment too, and have noticed a couple of worms in their poo :vom: I suppose it stands to reason with all their free ranging and flug eating  But great to know that routine worming with Flubenvet does the job :D

Great you are back online Fred :D

Evening all!

In answer to the question "Does anybody ever feel.....................!

My answer is SICK :vom:

I have just eaten a Steamed Toffee and Pecan pudding with Clotted Cream Icecream and I feel icky :( the really crazy thing is I am sitting here still shovelling the last couple of mouthfuls in

Cooks - I will happily take the blame with the chooks....it is for their own good in the long run :)

Oooh and well done Nyssa  I knew you would do it in the end! :D

Mine have had an hour and a half free ranging, and a very small amount of mealworms and corn, and the flubenvet is doing the trick (although I added 14g and not the 12g I should have to compensate  )

**moves the bowl away to a safe distance**

You two are just weak!!! Either that or I am a mean chicken mummy!

On Wormer week my lot get nothing except pellets, water and grit - with a couple of hours free range on the Sat and Sunday - yep I am a mean chicken mummy!

**pulls bowl back to her as it smells SO good**

well Em helped me measure it all out, I prefer to do the grape method but thought this would be easier and then the scales battery died halfway through measuring, I was like a rabbit stuck in headlights and froze.. Em sorted me!

Night Debs :)

Ooh, I think we have some ice cream in the freezer (well, where else )

Been t' neighbours again, I had to read Horrid Henry to E

Nugget looks rather clean today :P She's been in the eglu a lot, hopefully not going broody  - although it would be 8) to have some chicks

Might be a bit early to think about chicks, but it would be good to (hatch) again, and be able to keep them this time :D

 A mix of breeds would be better than 6 of 2 different breeds, and maybe dual purpose ... think I might be getting carried away now

Just asked mother

... "after exams" - and then it'd be after America so by the time they hatch I'd be at Uni a few weeks later

... can I do it at Easter time? "Yes, that'd work better :)"

That was easier than I was expecting! :D

Had to beg for months last time, literally  Won't get too excited yet though, ask father and check all the dates properly

... And then maybe get some help with breeds from the crazy thread? :whistle

For free I hasten to add

Tasha, I can't keep taking your stuff!

Thanks though :D - I might take you up on it, mother fell in love with your 'zebra chickens', the dotties, at the National :P

I have Cooks, wasn't expecting to be talking chicks but it could work :D

Good grief trying to catch up with you all! Well done Debs girls night Debs. Yummm to the goodies - keep it down girl! Now Lewis going broody, Cookie wants to dunk him and Tasha has birds for Lewis so hopefully he won't need to get dunked!

Who did I miss? Oh yes sorry Fred - Yaaaayyyy!

Been watching Mythbusters - they made a candle out of earwax. Now I'm not the squeamish sort (apart from watching things being born - human babies in particular :vom: ), but I was retching and hiding behind my fingers - slightly parted so I could still see. Murray also felt rather queasy (the biggest wuss in this house), and he was laughing hysterically!:lol: I think I prefer to feel sick by lovely foooooood!

I haven't had much success with the grape method, they are happier wolfing down doctored raisins with Floobydooby inside - and it's really fiddley to do that. Mini is more difficult - she's not keen on grapes and she won't eat the raisins either. She does love sunflower seeds - and I can't see how I can hide powder inside those! Blooming contrary awkward birds.

Arghhh you type quick! Love ickle birdy piccie!
