Cooks
oooh I hate it when they bruise when they take blood, some people seem to be able to take blood without bruiding others just plonk it in there. I am just about to make a shepherd pie for the kids tea...
ClaireG
Once when i was in hospital i had a nurse who couldn't get my blood. After about 3 attempts she tried to take it from my wrist I nearly passed out it was that painful. shepards pie

Space Chick
ever had it taken from the artery??? wow that hurts! I have, and I agree. I was only 6 at the time and I can still remember it, they had to take it from my wrist, and I am squeamish about wrists to this day. Scarred I was Will be going to pick Phil up from the station in a bit, it is tipping down with rain now, so the girls can't be out free-ranging I have to say, I am feeling rather creative after my limericks for Clare and Tom, and fancy writing more for my crazy thread friends. Here is my first effort *clears throat to commence the recital* Heres a tale about the wife of Murray She took Egg-lous girls in a hurry She wanted just girls So the story unfurls That one boy ended up in a curry Sorry Koojie - hope no offence taken Or perhaps you would rather this one for JJ Here is the story of Jess Her Garden was always a mess Cause when Yolko got big She decided to dig And Chickpea got her to confess Laters friends *waves bye bye for now*
Valkyrie
I'd like to add: If hubby called Murray continues to snore Then soon that said person will do so no more! Well done Debs Claret this is the right thread for illness and injuries, so consider yourself at home! Oh dear I've gone all Oliver. I tend to get little bruises but I did have one test and the pain just went down my arm - and I had the biggest bruises in a couple of patches on the arm and back of my hand. The agony lasted a good couple of days. Was reluctant the next time I went, but was told if I pressed really hard when the needle is taken out, then it closes the vein - it was the blood leaking out that caused the problem before. Since then have only had tiny bruises because I press the inside of my elbow right through to the other side.
Space Chick
I invented a Cooks one in the car (must be my 1/16th Irish blood ) Let me tell you 'bout my friend called Lyns Around her we're always on pins She so accident prone That she has no safe bone Personally I blame the gins And one for Fred There once was this boy they called Fred He got lifesaving plans in his head When he went to the pool They all thought it was cool That no swimmer would end up dead Edited March 18, 2010 by Guest
Geoid
I got tested for photophonic recognition (or something like that) today, I now get to have extra time, as well as a computer, in my exams. It confirms that I am also dyslexic (which I knew anyway)

Valkyrie
I wondered what happened there - because I didn't see Fred's one when I saw it - and thought where did that come from?

PurpleTree
Well done Debs Can you please all refrain from talking about needles and blood taking, unless you want me fainting off at my pooter. It's the one thing I really don't like about being pregnant, they're taking more blood off me at 28 weeks, and I've got to have an Anti-D injection. Now that really hurts, it's put in your thigh. Just been making Danny's Easter hat for school with him, I thought it was finished, when he pipes up 'Can we cut some crosses out and put them on, so no one forgets about Jesus' Do you think he's got a calling?
