Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 16

Recommended Posts

You've done it again! I tried to get on earlier, but failed miserably. So Erin now has a second birthday card as long as I remember to get it out of the boot of the car. She made a delish choccy cake for easter, but we've already eaten half of it. She is a little disappointed because it has the taste and texture of "shop bought" - but it's better than that - the eggs are home grown and not one funny additive thingy! She decorated it with mini eggs. Mum asked where the chicks were and was told that they hadn't hatched yet. So while she and Murray went for the Chinese I got out some chicks that I had stashed away (yep I knew where I put those - with the girls bits  ) and mum put them on the top of the cake. It took ages for her to spot the difference! :D

Sad news for neighbour's son. He has just been promoted and working in elevated position for 3 weeks - only to be told that his firm is being shut down - a shock to everyone and some people were crying - they'd been there 15 years. Apparently they can keep their jobs if they move to York. Bit too much of a commute for a young lad. :(

I haven't heard about a Welsh tornado in Neath just yet. Perhaps Phil is behaving now!

Um - I went to sleep on the sofa this afternoon - snuggled under Erin's sleeping bag. I was woken up by her ladyship sticking her finger up my nose and saying TIME TO PUT THE GIRLS IN THE RUN AND THEY ARE QUEUEING UP AT THE DOOR! No peace for the wicked eh?

But I had been busy in the garden and the greenhouse lifting up huge paving slabs (and my back is fine  ) and rearranging them so I don't sink in the gravelly bits. I had a lot of interest with the girls scratching around - but the slugs - so many little toe rags in MY greenhouse. Not so many now! And I've finished digging up the parsnips. The girls were fenced off and clucking like mad while I was digging, so I opened up that section and they've had a good scratch around. And I've sown my new parsnips - so I think I can be let off a little 40 winks.

Hello all, where were you all????? We all had to have seconds as I'd cooked for 13

Had a great evening with my friends, good gossip over a meal and a few drinks :D

Shattered now though, so see you tomorrow.

BTW Lewis - we have decided not to hatch and buy some POL Columbines instead. Basically I have heard so many stories of people losing hens after they have been broody and hatched that I couldn't bear to take the chance. Even if Grace is doing my nut in at the moment

Koojie - I feel sorry for Phil tonight, as we have been rather noisy tonight, and I know he was trying to get some sleep. Not much chance with my friends

Night night xxx

I've just gone out to check on the chooks and a white Silkie bantam is nearly dead! she was fine just a couple of hours ago

I've bought her in and nutridropped her and placed her in a cage by the heater, I've no idea what happened but she looks like she has got chilled even though its mild out :eh:

Also a cream legbar was attacked and nearly killed by some of the others a couple of days back and I have lost two chicks in the last day

I feel like a doom merchant :(

Ooh accidental payback Debs. I likeeee!

Well as mum has popped in again mid typing, talked about some celebrities that I have no idea who they are and yawned her head off then gone to bed, she's left me yawning non-stop now - so I think I'll turn in too.

See you peeps.

xxx

PS Oh dear Redders - hope the chooks stop giving you heart failure and recover. I think you need a hug.

Something got caught in our netting the other night - don't think it was a fox, probably a cat because the bulge was smaller and the netting partly chewed - I think a fox would have done a better job. So much for the netting - it's wired so that it could be electrified if necessary. I don't think it would work now.

Ahh :( Tis a risk, could have always used an incy

POL is good though, and you're guaranteed with the sex too :)

The noise is a form of karma :angel:

Lewis' friend has just asked about the eggs, I emailed Thornes but not heard anything back yet, will probably phone tomorrow to see if they do post eggs :)

The huuge list we said  :

Dotte bantams

(Silver partridge/salmon) Pekins

Naked neck

Orp banties

Araucana

Blue Frizzle

(Chamois/blue) frizzle poland

Modern game

.... but we know we won't be able to get all the eggs so any combinations would be good

:( :( About the chicks and silkie, hopes she's ok :?

Oh Tasha :(

((hugs)) .. I hope they improve soon.x

You're not a doom merchant.

Just popping in to say goodbye...off to the lake district tomorrow for a week...so see you on the 3rd :)

Going to miss you guys, shall try and say hello in the morning.

French exchange left this morning...she was crying as she got on the bus :( ...the hugging goodbye was rather emotional, it was to be admitted. Hopefully she'll be coming again next year though, if she doesn't have too many exams :) She wrote us a lovely goodbye letter that we were only allowed to open once she'd left. It's was so nice :)

n'night all

Morning all :D Hope the silkie is ok Tasha :(

Well....my dilema is over. Whilst i was posting on here yesterday unbeknown to me, Si bought me the wine barell coop :D:D:D:dance::dance::dance: We are going to get it later :D It's my early (more expensive than usual!!) anniversary pressie :D He thought it was apt as my Dad is a wine merchant and we had wine grape names for our tables when we got married :) Think i might call the bantam WIR the vineyard now.

WOW Claire! What a super hubby you have!!

OH suggested using a oil trip tray (like Halford sell for when you service car) as a "liner" for the barrell and then hopefully all you would need to do is pull the tray put, clean that and then sweep out the barrel

Morning all!

I am off back a few pages to catch up!
