I had my hair cut and coloured at the weekend and my hairdresser was waxing on about this new product that he really rates. Being a tough old sceptic, I told him to use it on my hair and I'd see what I think... especially as it's £20 a bottle!!! He'd ordered in 12 bottles and they'd sold out in 2 days!!!!

 

He used this 'Oil Treatment' from the range

 

 

On my damp hair before styling it - didn't use any other products, and I have to say that my hair is silky soft, feels lovely and no oiliness at all. That's saying something as my hair is almost totally white under the colour and I have the colour done every 6 weeks, so it really gets hammered.

 

I can't rave enough about it and I'm usually hard to convince. Has anyone else used it?

I dont use that, but I do use hair oil on my hair all the time. I bring it back from abroad & so do relatives for me. Last lot was Jasmine from Thailand, this current lot is from Egypt & contains Aloe Vera too. Smells lovely & works brilliantly. I'm interested in this though.

You only need a tiny amount and leave it on the hair before drying it. As I said I was doubtful at first, but the texture of my hair is fantastic.

 

Cinnamon, they also do a curly hair product!

My hairdresser was raving about the stuff too but I've been a bit reluctant to try it as it's so expensive.

It's Argan oil isn't it. Great for skin as well although I've not used it.

I am told that it is very good but when I had it put in my hair it didn't quite go to plan. I had my afro hair cut by someone who claimed to be able to cut afro hair. I knew it was not going to go well when he towel dried it and then tried to comb it through with a fine comb. Now anyone with curly hair will know that nearly dry hair plus comb equals frizz city. So poor naive chap started to pour his expensive moroccan oil on it to try to tame it. He used 3 bottles to no effect. My worst haircut ever and his most expensive.

Crikey, what an experience!

 

It contains Argan Oil, but also silicones for coating the hair.

 

Pure Argan oil is edible, and supposedly very good for you, you can also put it on your skin.

 

I am just about to wash my hair after a bout of circuits, so we'll see if the effect lasts after a shampoo too. I can imagine that it woudl be good for afro hair if used correctly. Have you tried the Palmers coconut oil products? I got into them when travelling in Africa; we were really roughing it, so not always able to wash hair - I just combed this through my waist length hair, and when I eventually washed it outm the condition was wonderful - it's good at taming frizz.

Very interesting comments here guys...I have been following the "no 'poo" route for some time now..and my hair has never been curlier...and yet I feel it lacks something....it looks great but just isn't very tactile...I may give this a go....I can justify it by saying i'm saving the money on shampoos!!!

The silicones worry me - isn't it silicones that the non SLS, organic and purer shampoos have trouble getting rid of? I can't do no 'poo, but I do use the Faith in Nature poos and condioners. Trouble is I'm also trying to finish off a bottle of Tigi blow dry serum and the Faith in Nature products struggle with the silicone layers it leaves

if you can find safflower oil in the supermarket (salad dressing) i find this by far the best when teaching infant massage. for me its just right in terms of oilyness and is full of beneficial properties particulary for very dry skin / eczema.

 

i also tell parents to use it for cradle cap, and the hair always looks in good condition too

 

it too would be worth looking at this as a cheap alternative (about £1.99) to the moroccan oil

I remember a girl doing it at sixth form, and it smelled like goat after a couple of months then suddenly went amazing.

 

I often think modern hair products are just designed to part us from our money. We never used to use them back in the olden days before our time. So I'm curious when people don't use them nowadays and how they find that.

No I couldn't cope with the no 'poo, it looks awful 2 days never mind 12 weeks and short hair actually isn't as easy to cope with when looking mank than long hair.

My hairdresser has been banging on about Moroccan oil for about a year. He uses it when he does my hair but I don't see any particular benefit over the Aubrey Organics shampoo and conditioners that I use. The Aubrey Organics range is SLS free so the shampoo does not lather up at all, which takes a bit of getting used to, but my hair is much curlier and less frizzy than when I used Pantene etc.

Snowy, I washed my hair with a non-SLS shampoo last night and it does wash out.

 

I have only used this oil, not the other products yet, so can't vouch for them. My hairdresser didn't use any of the usual styling stuff that he normally puts on (but I don't ) just the oil, and the condition was amazing.

I have used the Tisserand hair oil before,but just for s"Ooops, word censored!"ing out headlice (its the best stuff ever for this),but I would be interested in trying this stuff.

 

Does the company give out samples,do you know?

Dunno Sarah, but I am trying blag some from my hairdresser; if I am lucky enough to get a sample or a big discount (when he next gets his stok in) then I will send you a wee bit.

 

I am really jaded about all the hype re hair products, but this really made a difference to my hair. I washed it as usual last night and it doesn't feel nearly so soft and silky as it did afetr he'd used the oil.

ok - this is where you all think I've lost it - but honest - I'm deadly serious....

 

I use Cowboy Magic - http://www.cowboymagic.com/ - for both myself and the ponies ! You need the tiniest amount. A little goes a very long way. It makes your hair gorgeous and soft and smooth.

 

No silicones which break hair and loads of silk amino proteins. You can probably pick it up on Ebay - or at most really good tack shops !
