Blue-DiamondChick07
My new 6-8 bird coop has now been built, and I was going to get some Bantams as some of you know, but after my researching on the net, Ive decided to rescue 3-4 Ex-Batts instead. They need a loving home and nice life after everything theyhave been through. I was a bit reluctant as I tend to be emotional, and was worried it would be too heart breaking - but now really wanna help these poor girls. I emailed my coordinators via BHWT so now just have to wait...... Hope its not too long
Redwing
Thats good Remember they will be weak and aggressive when they first arrive so lots of TLC and a separate house and run will be needed
Chick-a-doodle-doo
We have 3 girls who have grown their feathers back and enjoying their new lives. They are great and still lay eggs. Great that you have decided to have ex batts! It was sad when one of my girls died, she didn't walk so we carried her down each day, she had a week of freedom but ex batts deserve kind, caring, homes. My hubby was a little reluctant like you but is so happy with our 3 girls it's worth it. Good luck.

Egluntyne
Marvelllous. I have 7 ex batts and it had been very rewarding to watch them learn how to behave like hens and blend into the flock.

Tutti Frutti
Fantastic news! I have four girls including 2 ex-barnies and... don't tell anyone but I have a really soft spot for both my baldies Actually, one of them isn't bald any more and has gone from being really scared and shy to being very affectionate with wonderfully fluffy golden brown knickers. The other, well, is still wearing anti-peck spray but is slowly getting there and is as mad as a box of frogs! You will love them to bits. Well done you!

coco
Well done for giving these girls a new home. My two ex batts were very aggresive when I first got them but have setled in fine now. Prue my light sussex cross hangs round with the ex batts now and they leave the silkie crosses to be broody. [again] Lily spent all the cold weather we had moulting and shivering but she has lovely new feathers now. They are so rewarding and into everything.
