Anyone watching the new Dr Who?

Recommended Posts

at a few points if you looked away you could be forgiven for thinking DT was back. Sounded very like him in places.

Thought it was good though and we all thought he will make a very good doctor.

My neighbours daughter is called Amy Pond

Havent noticed her sneeking off in a Tardis

"Ooops, word censored!"ody likes the tune now in this household, but we all thought the programme was quite good. Murray - the wuss - will probably have nightmares. I thought it was a moray eel - kind of cute in an odd sort of way, but not frightening for me. Murray did not like the mum and 2 little girls fanging away at all!:lol::lol:

I've decided the Doc looks like a young Gordon Ramsay but with a lot more finesse.

I was prepared to watch with an open mind as I was a huge DT fan as the Dr - I loved it :dance::dance: Yeah, a bit odd for an opening episode but can't wait to find out what River Song is up to and for the Weeping Angels to return. I thought it was well written - you could tell it was a Steve Moffat story as there were a few hints of darker elements in it. I do wish they would leave the theme tune ALONE though!!!!

I thought it was great. I loved DT as the Doctor but I really think Matt Smith will make a superb replacement. And Amy Pond seems to be a real fiesty character

The new theme tune and opening credits need some urgent attention though

I can't help but second most of the thoughts already on the thread having just watched the episode.

DD said that she thought that MS sounded like DT so we shut our eyes and agreed with her. She has also made it very clear that she will not be watching the Weeping Angels as they completely freak her out.

On the whole, it was a promising start. ( sorry if that sounds like a school report card!)

Just finished watching it with the kids. I have to say I really liked it and think Matt Smith makes a good Dr. Loving the Amy Pond character too. Looking forward to the rest - not the sleeping angels so much (insert scared face here)

The title music does needs changing though. *tuttuttut*

I linked Matt - I like his gawkyness,& think he looks a little bit like Booth from Bones,if you squint 8)

Sorry I know this is quite rude but I thought he looks like Frankenstein's monster...but I thought he did well with it...and I will carry on watching...

We liked it, I think he's settled in to the role straightaway.

Goodness knows how many children will be having nightmares tonight......in fact, I'll be having nightmares tonight :anxious::lol:

.........I hope we don't have any cracks in the walls :anxious:

never mind the cracks, I'm scared to look out of the corner of my eye!!!!

We thought it was brilliant, can't wait for the next one :D

Well, all our lot love the new doctor. We all loved DT but Matt Smith just brings this wonderful craziness to the role that has us chuckling so much more than DT ever did. I know it's not meant to be a comedy but his funny one-liners do add a lighter side.

We also liked seeing him get angry, he does a good angry!!

I like the new theme tune, it just takes some getting used to. I like Amy Pond, she works perfectly with Matt, brilliant casting.

And Matt looks nothing like Odo!! Odo always gave me the creeps whereas Matt evokes other feelings

I forgot to add that we had fish fingers and custard on Friday night!!! We were having fish fingers anyway so i got those ndividual pots of custard and surprised DD when i brought her dinner through! We all dipped our fish fingers in the custard and it was.........delicious!!!!!! I recommend having battered fish fingers though as you'd lose loads of crumbs in the custard otherwise :vom:

It was a nice touch having Annette Crosbie in the episode, recognising the Doctor from her previous encounter with him.

When did she meet him before? I have goldfish brain. :D Loving Matt Smith. Wanting to love the assistant. Loved the child actor playing young Amelia. Loved the focus on children in the first episode. Because it is primarily for kids, although we adults love it. Love how Stephen Mofatt taps into those child fears - cracks, things in the corner of your eye - he's brilliant. It's all going to be brilliant. :D

Helly I am speechless!

Did you notice the crack in the ship at the end of the episode? :anxious:

.

The two cracks were the same shape as each other. The crack also appeared on the TV on the Tardis console when the Doctor was first showing Amy around it, he saw it and then quickly moved the conversation on. "The silence is coming"

Blimey, i sound like a right Doctor Who geek
