sparkysmum
Same here, someone didn't lock the WIR last night and by 7.00am the newly reseeded wildflower border had been trashed.

Cinnamon
Mine had all my peas last week Lucky I planted too many & had enough spare - the hens are now confined to barracks.

atsw
Oh Dear ! Haha All the chickens are lovely ... I really like the buff orpington (if thats what she is) And the frizzle cockerel ... I have a question for you , because the cockerel is the orpington's son does she still look after him ? Thanks Yes, the big buff is an Orpington. She'll be two next week (hatched 22nd April 2008). I did have a pair, and it was the other one of the pair that hatched the pekins last Summer. She was a fantastic Mum, but sadly she suffered a severe prolapse when she came back into lay and had to be put to sleep . Anna, the remaining orp has a totally different character. She shows no maternal instinct what-so-ever and never showed any interest in the Pekin chicks, not even when her sister passed on. Liquorish (the cockerel ) may be quite small, but he's quite capable of looking after himself and does a great job of keeping all 'his girls' under control.
