Thanks for all your congratulations Guys!! I am due 19th Feb. Made decision to have coil out, got that done 10th May and fell pregnant around the 20th Had a few problems in the beginning, lots of abdominal pain and some spotting so had to have an early scan at 6 weeks, then wait for the 12 week scan which the sonographer was really pleased with!! Just have to cross fingers and wait and see if all goes well!!!

 

Going to have my hands full though as one of the parents I childmind for is also pregnant, she told me as I found out I was pregnant! She is 3 months ahead of me!

Hi guys, I've just found this thread that I started 3 years ago. Thought I'd give you all an update on how things went.

 

Flynn was born on Wednesday 2nd march 2011 after a fairly stressful last month of pregnancy. His heart wasn't functioning properly but the medics thought it would right itself once the baby was born. He was 2 weeks over due, I worked right up until 2pm on the day he was born. He arrived at nearly 11pm after just 3 hours of established labour (2 weeks of slow labour though ) ............ And after heart checks etc we were discharged in time for the afternoon school run the next day to pick up big brother and sister. The kids were instantly besotted!

 

I had a whole 2 days maternity leave and was back to work the following week.

 

Flynn is now a happy toddler who shouts at the chooks when they try to pinch his raisins when he's out in the garden, the mindees parent had a little girl 12 weeks before I had Flynn and they are now the best of friends or worst of enimies.

 

Happy to say it all went ridiculously smoothly............... So smoothly in fact that we would love another................ but you guessed it, we went and got another 4 girlies instead! logistics has dictated

Read through the whole thread & found me saying this

 

The epidurals were the worst parts of both my labours. Absolutely hate needles and didn't really want an epidural but circumstances meant I was strongly advised to right at the end of my labours, was the only time I cried. Hoping I can get through this one without needing any interference (is that spellt right? It looks odd)

 

I ended up having a C-section, so more than just needles to worry about

Would any broody omleteers consider fostering.I have three grown up children,a little blessing ( adopted daughter)and at moment have foster baby who has been with us since 3 weeks now 6 months will probably be adopted soonish and while we will miss her it has been a privilege to be there when she needed us.Over past 12 years we have had about 40 little ones some for weekend some for few years,most go home and some are adopted.It certainly keeps you busy,no empty nest syndrome.

Oooh, I'm nearly in tears reading through this! YS is off to school on 15th April and I am dreading it! ES is 8 1/2 and YS was 5 in Feb - YS was born at 29 weeks and he and I are incredibly close(after 8 1/2 weeks kangaroo care in SCBU!)

 

I am 48 now so another baby is out of the question. But I do feel sooooo sad; having been fortunate enough to be at home since ES was born its going to be a huge change and so hard to let go of the little one I'd give anything to have the last 5 years back

I went through a brief broody phase just before ED hit an age where we felt happy to leave her in charge for an hour or so, we have not looked back since I love having teenagers they have a fresh non cynical take on life and can be such great company, not to mention the fact that they love being trusted with a little responsibility and we love the couple time that it has given s back.

 

Just watch them grow with pride, keep talking to them and make them know that they are loved always.
