UPDATE!! Broody broody........ and I don't mean the hens!!!

Recommended Posts

We had moved and we had the room, phoned hubby and he agreed we could try.

Dont know quite why but that gave me a fit of the giggles as I pictured the scene...

*phone rings*

"Hello? Mr Seagazer speaking"

"Darling its me, I say- would you mind fightfully if we tried for another baby?"

"Certainly my dear, is tonight good for you?"

"You are a sport, bring a bottle of wine home would you? Toodle-loo."

Hi, Yep I know the feeling of wanting a baby to the point of insanity...at 18 I was told that I couldnt have children or at leas it would be near impossible. and almost 11 years down the line I have two amazing but hard work kiddies aged 8 and 4 (cant believe my baby is off to school in september :S.) who I love and adore , most of the time lol, any way it took a looooooooooonnngggg time to fall preggers and drove me nuts. Now Im at the point that I where I dont want any more and hubby was sent packing to the clinic :lol: .... I could happily have another baby or two or three but we agreed on two. I had two reasonably gd pregnancies and two very awkward births. Jake, my 8 year old just didnt want to come out lol, Becky my 4 year old got stuck and needed full resus.. and thats what made our choice to stop there... the thought of the what if's...

but theres no right and wrong answer, do whats right for you and your O/h

all the best

xx

We've always said two - I am one of five, and don't think that I want my children to be part of a large family. It just didn't work for us/me. Having said that, we've both thought that if we have our two now and then in five or six years want another, we might just do it. I quite like large age gaps in families, we have a big gap in between two lots of children in our family.

OH rang me up yesterday (from Hong Kong where he has taken my baby) to say that he didn't think he could cope with not having a cute baby around to play with once Mog was older and could I make sure that we always had one around. I think we could probably keep that up for another ten or fifteen years ;) Fingers crossed, Mogling will get a little brother or sister (SISTER) some time next year if all goes to plan. I'm not getting rid of the baby stuff though, that's why I moved to a house with a loft. And three garages. And a loft over the garage ;)

OH and I always said two. I'm one of two, he is the eldest of four and always felt that so many was difficult for his family; there was never enough of anything to go around.

After DS1 arrived I remained broody, then had an ectopic which left me painfully desperate to have a second - partly the loss and partly that I knew I wanted a second and was worried that it might not happen. I also recognise that 'ache' you describe! After DS2 was born though, there was a tremendous sense of having completed our family.

My sister has just had her second baby, and isn't at all sure that this will be the last, although she had a rotten pregnancy and a second difficult delivery.

I'm a big believer in listening to yourself - and although this is a big and difficult decision it's one you can only make together. Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

You guys are WONDERFUL!!!! :D I love all the replies that you have given and it's lovely to hear about how some of your littlies have come about!!

After HUGE discussions about the ifs and buts etc etc and conversations with my 2 children........ how would you feel etc... we have made the decision for me to have my coil removed asap. We have come to the conclusion that if it happens it happens, and if not, then there is a reason but at least there will be no regrets of not at least trying.

Ooooh all excited now  Just won't think about the sickness and labour bits!! :vom::anxious:

Labour, shmabour. Obviously it's been long enough that I've forgotten how unpleasant the whole thing was!

Next time I'm not being brave and staying at home because it doesn't hurt that much, I'm getting to the hospital nice and early for my epidural!

The epidurals were the worst parts of both my labours. Absolutely hate needles and didn't really want an epidural but circumstances meant I was strongly advised to right at the end of my labours, was the only time I cried. Hoping I can get through this one without needing any interference (is that spellt right? It looks odd)

Congratulations :D

I have 3 and my 3rd was a child of fate, it can be literally an odd number sometimes, but when there is one sibling that they are not getting along with there is always a spare, and they love each other to bits really, sticking together if the going gets tough for anyone.

Have fun, the more children you have the more cakes you can bake.

Congratulations

Its odd you were discussing this on my youngests 1st birthday.

I'm suffering the broods at the moment. Other people babies don't do it fo rme. My own does though and ds3 is still adorably babyish.

But no more as dh has had the snip so I will have to get over it, I have no choice. 4 is enough for any sensible woman

I'm glad you made your choice though. From such a short sentence I could feel the excitement oozing :D
