Janepie33
Has anyone been to London to spot the elephants scattered all about as part of the Elephant Parade? It's a scheme to highlight the plight of the endangered Asian elephant. There are 258 elephants all over London and some of them are quite spectacular. You can download a map telling you where they all are. DD and I were out for around 5 hours yesterday and only spotted 58! There were loads of families out spotting too. The elephants are the same size as a baby elephant and have been decorated by a selection of artists. Such fun to go looking for them all. Good exercise and a chance to see bits of London you might not usually visit. http://www.elephantparadelondon.org

Tutti Frutti
Wonder if the London ones will be sold off? Wonder how much they go for? Wonder if my neighbours will think I'm completely stark raving bonkers? 3 cats... 7 chickens... and then a baby Indian elephant appears at the end of the garden

Janepie33
You can buy little ones too. The smallest are 10cm and start at about £27. Some of the big ones are going to be auctioned 3rd July so if you've the odd 2 or 3 thousand lying around.......

stoice
We were in London last week end and only spotted (and photographed) 32 elephants. Some were really cool! There are about 20 odd in Green park right by Buckingham Palace. We were going to an exhibition on wildlife art and other works by David Shepherd at the Mall galleries so it was really close by - in fact they were also rehersing trooping the colour too, which was an added bonus! The horses were beautiful and very smart. I also fed some squirrels and one sat on my arm to eat the banana chip i was giving him. So cute. Oh and i saw the Victory in the bottle on the spare plinth. I love days in london like that, when something unexpected and wonderful brightens your day (Especially as the heavens opened) CLICKY THINGY
