TAJ
My chicks hatched earlier in the year are now 15 weeks old at least 3/7 are cockerals, only 1 I am sure is a girl. Here are 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, a CL cockeral, bantum frizzle & Silkie - one SL Wyandotte is female for sure: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2691.jpg This is one of the dotte cockerals: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2694.jpg Two Dotte cockerals: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2697.jpg My lovely silkie (I fear male?) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2693.jpg Here are the two banties - the frizzle and the buff Plymouth Rock, with the CL cockeral. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2695.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2696.jpg Eyeing up the big girls - they have spent sometime freeranging together: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2698.jpg I watched them all with my broody silkie (no dunking, removal/lock out from the nest box is stopping her) & the cat joined in: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2701.jpg Let me know what you think. Guest
I'm not sure but I think at the age of the silkie it is a male.

TAJ
They all look fantastic. Love to CLB What are you going to do with all the cockerels? We cannot keep cockerals I am afraid - they are safe until they crow only I am afraid. Tracy

TAJ
they are lovely. Did you hatch them? Yes I hatched them 5th March - there was a thread in the hatching section, but now they are too grown up to post there - teenagers - no longer 'chicks'. From quite early on we knew the CL, 2 * SL dottes & silkie were males - but only the CL has been crowing so far. We know the 3rd SL dotte is female & hope the same is true of the two banties - but I will not count on it until I hear a crow or see an egg! TAJ
They are too young to integrate as yet, but were freeranging yesterday & today with the 'big girls' and apart from the odd chase all is going well - oddly the little bantams have not been chased - obviously too little to be a treat. My little female SL dotte actually chased my buff orp, so what they do not have in size they make up for in cheek! Tracy
TAJ
Now my babies have decided a cube is nicer than an eglu and all moved in! http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2705.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2704.jpg The cube girls keep having a look at them, or pass them to go up to lay - they seem to be quite happy in the garden and eating and drinking in the eglu whilst the babies occupy there run. As long as they are all happy freeranging and no one gets attacked I will leave them to get on with it for now (they are now 16 weeks, so too young for moving in full time as yet.
