karlotta
Omlet posted on The Facebook group and on Twitter on Friday - hey everyone - bee sure to look out for an amazing new feature soon to be published on the omlet website!! We are very eggcited about it & it's sure to create a buzz!! Anyone care to hazard a guess/info on what it might be??
The Dogmother
Seeing as they use the word 'buzz', it may be something to do with bees.
Olly
Well I wondered that - but they also use the word 'eggcited' so I wondered if it was just Omlet-speak. Unless they are producing a different shape of hive, I can't see what else they would be launching in bees. I think it's going to be an Ostrichlu. Similar to the Eglu, but with extraheadroom! Or maybe the time has finally come for the Piglu?
Tutti Frutti
Or WIRs? Or theft insurance? Or pet insurance? Or tables for stacking Eglus? Or Go run extensions? Or a Summer Sale? Or clearout of used/recon items? But Olly, I LOVE your idea of a Piglu - good one
Egluntyne
I'm guessing a new patterned Eglu. Camouflage? Woodgrain? Candy striped? Encrusted with Swarwovski crystals?
Olly
Hmm, I can see the hens pecking the Swarovski off in no time! Perhaps an 'austerity' Eglu for these hard-pressed times, a bit like the utility furniture after the war? Wood veneer with cheap handles, and no trimmings, as I recall ... Space Chick
New more reliable delivery company I can't wait to find out, but my guess would be Go Run extensions..... there again I am always wrong
Tutti Frutti
Hmm but it says "Feature on the Omlet website" so I'm not sure it's a product Something like... "Talk to us" button? Poor old Quin & Barbara would be handcuffed to their laptops Ooh or a competition... or a rewards scheme! Or a Cube run for the next person to hit 1,000 posts
bigmommasally
Please let it be a WIR, I'm still dithering over ordering mine
docsquid
I guess it might be bee-related too. Maybe a half-sized (i.e. single-hive) beehaus?
Cinnamon
Seeing as they use the word 'buzz', it may be something to do with bees. They use the phrase 'eggcited' too though
karlotta
I'm guessing a new patterned Eglu. Camouflage? Woodgrain? Candy striped? Encrusted with Swarwovski crystals? I hope it's not a camouflage one.... I wouldn't be able to resist that!!
chick wiggle
Oh a WIR would be great, good timing for me too But i love the thought of a pattened eglu too ohhhhhh and the crystal one sounds lurvely Egluntyne
Tutti Frutti
Just not the camouflage one... can you picture your chickens searching for it, wandering around bokking loudly, heads stretched to the sky... "WHERE'S THE BEDROOM GONE?"... Or is it just my chooks that are daft?
Plum
No not just yours What about a bee cam (webcam) for hive watching. Perhaps its just a new design honey jar.

"WHERE'S THE BEDROOM GONE?"... Or is it just my chooks that are daft? No, mine would be just like that too. Bokking around all necky and puzzled and trying to roost on the windowsill! The Dogmother
Someone on my course yesterday was told by Quin (at a recent show) that it's a woodgrain, or patterned eglu. It seems that everyone was being told and it's common knowledge Seems that we're always the last to know
karlotta
Woodgrain!!!!? That might just be my most loved thing at the moment!!! Thank goodness I NEED an eglu to introduce a couple of Brahma I've got my eye on!
Chucky Mama
Woodgrain. Don't you love grand announcements of 'secrets' when everyone already knows Maybe the 'leak' was intentional
The Dogmother
I'm having trouble imagining how it might look I can't help the image of wood effect sticky backed plastic from leaping into my brain I quite like the plain colours, I'm not too sure about multi-coloured ones, perhaps it will grow on me. I guess it will appeal to those who like the more 'natural' look of wooden houses.
Cinnamon
If its anything like the woodgrain upvc products we use,it will look very, very good indeed
The Dogmother
Hmmm, I'm still not convinced. I'm not a fan if fake wood though, so probably not giving and impartial view.
Chucky Mama
I am not a fan of plastic wood either but I suppose it depends how well it is done. I would rather have wood wood and plastic plastic myself
The Dogmother
Rosie suggested that a tie-die effect one would be 'cool'
Cinnamon
I would just like to see the grey bit come in nicer colours,so we can mix & match Also a vivid Aqua blue Eglu would look wonderful (in my garden anyhow )
