Alis girls
Might be to make sure hes filled form out properly. Shouldnt think it will be too taxing - probably just to make sure hes not from another planet. Is it at the post office?
Geoid
They just ask you to confirm some facts about yourself, facts that only you would know. Its to stop identity theft and all that. Takes about half an hour.
Ness3103
i've just googled and some of the people have been asked are worrying. some have been asked their ni number, bank account sort code, father's car's registration number, counter signatory's age, broadband provider, mortgage lender, name of your next door neighbour to name but a few. i don't know my bank details or car registration off by heart (let alone my dad's)
donald
I was always worried that mine would have to go to Peterborough(60miles away) but we never had to do this when they came off my passport(one was last year). Tell him it will be good practice for a job interview. I am intrigued as the forms give the impression everyone will have to go and yet we never got called. Wonder if they just randomly pick out people. Let us know how he gets on cant imagine where they will put him on the first plane to Somewhere hotter than here if he is lucky, can I go with him Donald
craftyhunnypie
I bet it's full name, address, date of birth, Mothers name, Fathers name, place of birth & to check you don't look like dodgy. Dress smart & be yourself - tell him. Emma.x
donald
i've just googled and some of the people have been asked are worrying. some have been asked their ni number, bank account sort code, father's car's registration number, counter signatory's age, broadband provider, mortgage lender, name of your next door neighbour to name but a few. i don't know my bank details or car registration off by heart (let alone my dad's) I think he would be well within his rights to refuse some of these questions, particularly bank details as anyone from abroad can open a bank account? I mean if he is only young it would be more relevant to ask which school , his GP etc etc where he was born. Or even take his National health number and birth certificate, how many siblings etc etc etc. What are they going to do imprison him! Poor lad I dont mind checks but bureacracy gone mad really. Tell him not to worry as they should know the answers anyway Donald
TutuTallulah
My sister had to go for one and was really worried, but it is not an interview to see if you are fit have a passport, it is purely to avoid any identity theft and make sure that you aren't pretending to be someone you are not. She could answer all the questions no problem (no trick questions!). They asked her banking history (ie banks, branches, rough dates) - no bank account details as in account numbers etc. They also asked if she had ever had a mail order catalogue, mother's name, father's name etc etc. Anything that they can trace to make sure you are the person you say you are. The interview lasted about 15 minutes but was more of a chat than an interrogation! Hope this helps x
PurpleTree
My friend went for one as she was applying for her first passport at the age if 27. Can't remember everything she said they asked her, but I think one was her mother's date of birth.
