The Dogmother
Glad to see the master plan is taking shape. The duckling is gorgeous.
TheGirlsMum
Dont understand the master plan, but the duckling in sooooo cute. My friend had Alysbury ducks until the fox visited (they had forgotten to put them to bed tho') And Ive been dying to try and hatch some out for them, maybe next year.. Snowy
Looking great Lesley! Did you get the help to put it together in the end? That duckling is so cute!
Lesley
It was really well made - and easy to put together. My son was able to come over as the job he is on didn't have all the materials he needed and his friend was here as he does one day a week strimming and tidyng for us. Any proceeds from the selling of our house are being used to make life a bit easier when it comes to feeding and watering of all the animals and poultry. I should have written big plan as BIG PLAN - because it is We can't afford to be full-time smallholders and it takes Carl a couple of hours in the morning to do the feeding and watering - nice in good weather but not in winter or the awful early summer we've had. Lesley
sorry Paola We've separated the drake from the duck and duckling. We had problems last year with him trying to kill the 4 ducklings. Carl found the duckling near drowned and we just managed to save it. We kept it under the heat lamp for a few hours and then put it back with the duck. Mork is now in a different run but he and Mindy miss each other and make a racket all day and night

The Dogmother
Like most male ducks, he seems intent on killing the young and 'bothering' his wife far too much They love each other really, but he does get carried away!

Karen & co.
Gosh Lesley, I've just caught up with the goings on at the farm, you have been so busy I'm so glad you have sold the house at last and the new additions look wonderful karen x
Lesley
The farm was on Location, Location again this week - Tuesday? Louise told me and luckily, I'd recorded it, pure chance - I thought it was a new series It was a revisited and it was interesting to see the house again as it was in October 2005, in its unfinished state. We found it in January 2006 when it was just about finished. It was interesting to see the Fossetts again - and their camels! We knew they were still local as we see Joe Fossett in the local shop occasionally. We still don't know exactly where they are as the programme said they were 2 miles away but in the same village - the whole village is less than half a mile long The show also put up an odd valuation - it wasn't what the owners were asking for and it wasn't what we paid either - I think they pulled a number out of a hat Funny to see Kirsty coming out of our front door and to see Phil standing what is now the middle of the chicken runs
Louise
I seem to be the only one who remembered to watch Lesley I saw it was a revisited and it included the 'couple with the camels' so wanted to show my parents the farm

sam42
on the local news the other night they interviewed camel owners who lived in Shipston on Stour. Perhaps these are the same ones???
Lesley
I think it would be - I think they've moved to a village between where they were (just up the road from us) and Shipston. I wonder if they have any baby camels for sale....................
