patsylabrador
Nigella says that she never brushes her hair which came as a happy surprise to me as I never brush my hair despite it being longish. I comb products through when I wash it which is every other day but other than that I use my fingers to tease out tangles and give it a lift. Brushes do weird things to my hair and remove all the nice waves and curls.
Lesley
I would never have believed that of Nigella's hair - perhaps she means she pays someone else to do it! OH never ever combs or brushes his hair - it just always looks the same! - I look like Worzel Gummidge on a bad hair day if I don't brush mine, no matter how long or short it is
Cinnamon
Never brush mine excpet to brush product through it just after washing. I am a curly top & if you get a brush near it,it goes frizzy I generally use my fingers or an afro comb.
The Dogmother
Mine is short now, but even when it was long, it only ever got one brush a day and left. It is straight, looks tidy enough and I really can't be bothering with fiddling. I refuse to believe that Nigella isn't high maintenance..... she kids us! Rhapsody
I dont brush mine either, unless I am straightening and I have as much hair as NL
Omletina Kyckling
I brush mine after I've washed it to get rid of tangles and brush through leave in conditioner (using a tangle teezer), wash my hair every other day so the other morning I just pull out the worse tangles with my fingers. I'm also a curly top so if I brushed it dry I'd look like a scarecrow!!!
Daphne
Doesn't it get all tangled and knotty if you don't brush it? Mine does and I have long thick hair with a bit of a wave. So, is there a secret I don't know about? Although writing this I've realised that I don't brush it - I comb it with a wide toothed comb. The Dogmother
Nope, and I used to have waist-length hair. The secret is to wash it less so it's not too dry - that's when it tangles.
chickencam
I have very fine hair and it has to be washed everyday otherwise it goes all limp and looks like rats tails, despite being just above shoulder length. I don't need to brush it more than once if I dry it after spraying with a styling product then hair spray when dry. If however I just wash and leave it I have to brush it several times during the day. It can get seriously knotty if it is windy or if i have been wearing a scarf in the winter and it has rubbed itself into knots against it. bluekarin
A wide tooth comb only ever goes near mine when it has conditioner on it. Otherwise it goes very smooth on top but mega frizzy towards the ends (I have two heads of hair - one curly and one straight, and it is so much fun )
Valkyrie
Snap! My hair is neither one nor t'other. Pain if I had my hair cut for straight style because it curled and too boring when it's allowed to grow - hence always being plaited to tame it. Even now when I look in the mirror I can see the shorter hairs boinging up and away. I have always brushed it, it has always tangled. Even worse if it stays loose for any length of time - it then gets matted with the friction against my shoulders. Perhaps I need to glide rather than look like I've just done a year at sea aboard the Ark Royal. I have a bamboo brush crossed with a detangling comb. I also bought myself a Tangle Teezer. I have to say the TT was useless compared with the other one. But maybe their idea of long hair is a lot shorter than mine. I've now been sheared because I've started swimming and the long hair was so awkward. It's still in a plait, but easier. When I get up it's still tangled itself overnight and using my fingers just doesn't work with me - they get tangled in too.
sari
Inever brush my hair, but it's fairly short, think 1920's shingle.....I'm growing one side thugh, as I want to be able to finger wave it. I don't believe anything Nigella says....
ubereglu
I have to brush my hair because it's so thick and although its shoulder length I still couldn't survive without a brush. I am very tempted to take the plunge and get it cut quite a lot shorter next time to make it easier to manage, but I'm not quite that brave yet!
