The Weather Thread # 6

Recommended Posts

Saturday was absolutely roasting hot and sunny. Sunday and yesterday weren't as warm and also overcast. We had heavy rain bouncing early last night and early this morning there was torrential rain which woke me up, twice. I usually sleep through anything so it must have been bad. Now it's just grey and miserable

I think I'm going to throw up - this humid weather and the combination of giving up smoking means my newly acquired sense of smell is super sensitive to anything pungent I walk past - doggy doo, peoples' rubbish - Brighton STINKS in the summer time.

Not to mention salt and seaweed.

Please rain, to give my nose a break :(

Just had another look at the weather video for my area and they seem to have downgraded the predicted thundery monsoon for today to light rain, clearing up later. Friday looks sunny, showers on Saturday and rain again on Sunday and the first two days of next week.

I on't mind it raining when I'm at work.

Powercut last night for over an hour - at least we had already shut the hens up in their house! The strange thing was me (and several others on Twitter), said we kept seeing red lightning (well, a red flash across the sky), but no thunder. I thought that this may be something to do with the pylons

couldnt we just have summer? you know, a sort of reliable stint of 10-14 days where the sun (that big glowing thing in the sky, you might remember it) actually shone; we could actually plan to have a BBQ the day after tomorrow, or go on a day out without taking wellies, kagoules, cardies, sun cream, sun hats etc to cover every eventuality?

Torrential rain since Saturday evening. Flooding and landslides have closed roads. Woke up this morning and it is still raining and the wind is getting up.

The forecast for the rest of the week looks bleak and I finish work at lunchtime for two weeks. My plans for gardening will have to be put on hold.
