I got asked a strange question last night by my mum. I was generally talking about the forum & daily topics when she asked.."who is your best forum friend"? I really had to think who that was. Do I have one, or several?

So hope I didn't offend anyone..I said..

Those were the ones that I thought of first & mainly because I can relate to them the most. Everyone on here is obviously a friend - but these were my chosen few.

I don't feel the need for a proper 'best friend' as I had when I was a child,as I have my Hubby & my girls now

But I do consider several people on here among the closest friends I have

That's a very hard question to answer, because the support network on here is so good.

 

My Non-virtual best friend is my hubby closely followed by my children.

 

People that I miss most when they are not on the forum are Claret, Lesley, Cinnamon, & Couperwife for making me laugh.

Yes that's what I went off. The people who help me most, make me laugh - have good ideas etc. I never had a best friend in reality - & not too many friends through school as was bullied terribly. Most of my friends were from other countries when I was at Salzburg Uni & we lost touch.

10 years ago, I met up with my best friend from primary school and some other school friends from that time. I had gone to a different secondary school, and moved away from the area with my studies. It was sad - they'd stayed in the town where i grew up, we got on well but had very little in common

 

I now have a couple of very close friends, and a wide circle of other friends. Through this forum, over the years, I have met and made some really good friends.

I'm very lucky - I have at least three 'best' friends, and six other very good friends who I could ask for help, ring up if I need to rant about something, and invite to celebrate with me. In fact I have just returned from a birthday trip to Paris with eight of them! I have lots of other friends who are less close and whom I see a bit less often, but still enjoy their company.

 

Whilst I'd like to think I have some Forum Friends (although I haven't had the chance to meet many of you in person) they are different to my real-life friends. The Mods are a very friendly lot!

I'd go one further and say that I have become so close to some forum friends in real life that I have got to think of them more as family than friends.

 

I'm not going to name names, but I'm sure my extended family know who they are

This forum is so lovely - it makes you feel all warm and wanted. After being bullied through school & work most of my life - believe me it is needed. Just love this forum.

I have different groups of friends - from school, the 2 drama groups, Uni, chicken friends - so lots of good friends, would class the group of friends from school as my 'best' friends who I miss seeing and going out with, the most.

 

There are a few people on here that I get on really well with and speak to most days

Others that you might not speak to for a few weeks or have never met, but are always there to talk to

I have one or two that I speak to most days on here/email/phone. A couple I don't speak to as often as I should, all busy, but know I can count on them if I need them.

 

One who's sense of humour has me chuckling into my tea most days. Plus one who I call and spend hours on the phone to usually late at night!!

My best forum friends aren't on this forum but on another one I've been on for years nad year. Theres a circle of us who are close but if I had to pick a couple then the two who I asked to be ds3s Godparents
