Chucky Mama
...ahem, nothing - again DD even gave OH her spare valentines card It would appear that the 14th has come as a surprise again The children told me the OH hastily s"Ooops, word censored!"ed a heart into the ice on my car windscreen on his way out. Not a bright idea as I wont be using my car until 5 o'clock by which time it will be long gone. I suspect there will be a panicked phone call to the local florist when he gets to work OH thinks that Valentines day is a manufactured day and would rather do something as a surprise some other day of the year. A fair point ....but, I wonder when that day will be, I'm still waiting
The Dogmother
same here... Phil is working, was working all weekend, so didn't even come over then... says that my card is in the post.
Goosey Lucy
We've agreed no cards this year, OH is very good at spontaneous gifts throughout the rest of the year - I think I am too
Looney
Nothing here...I banned Valentines Day years ago! OH spent the first couple of years worrying that I didn't really mean it and he'd be in trouble for not getting me anything This is exactly why I banned it, I don't like feeling like I ought to be doing something, I'll do something nice as a surprise in a few weeks time
LisaP
You are not alone - nothing here either Wouldn't mind but a reminder went off on his iPad yesterday when we were doing some work together, so he can't even claim he forgot After nearly 27 years together you'd think I'd be used to it but somehow it still hurts Lisa P
Cinnamon
Nothing here, but I am not bothered at all. We are hardly in the first flush after being married for 23 years, and to be honest the money can be better spent elsewhere.
Griffin
We agreed no cards or chocolates because I'm on a diet so what do I wake up to this morning? A card and chocolates I ate a few and the kids polished off the rest

Snoxy
Ahhhhh that is lovely...well done Mr Chucky Mama Just to add...Ellin, 5 was asking me this morning if Taylor her little 'boy' friend at school will give her anything...shouldn't think he is even aware that it is Valentines I am going to get all my children a little chocolatey treat for after school I know it isn't the norm for for very young children to give their Mum cards...but I will treasure mine...as they were made with LOVE
Seagazer
I'm glad I'm not the only one without then! I can't believe OH didn't get me a card, I don't expect pressies but just a little, iddy, biddy card would have been lovely. OH does also believe that its completely manufactured and silly. We do say we love each other virtually (barring argument days) every day so it probably is pointless but it would have been nice. I got him a card, his birthday is on Wednesday so I'm always in the card shop at this time of year.

Seagazer
Unintentional - sort of! We're well known in our family for disagreeing, but I think that makes us stronger for it, well I hope it does. We've managed to stay together for 28 years so far

kerryegg
Nothing so far, after 41 years whatever, but as he has gone fishing I may get a couple of trout to gut later. No special meal either as it is my yoga class. Must try and do better next year.

Chucky Mama
Just found a card under a whole load of junk on my desk - that doesn't get him completely off the hook though.
Willow
I nearly didn't look at this thread as OH never does romantic gestures but I feel better knowing I'm not alone We did have a nice w/e away just the two of us but as I'd organised it all it didn't quite count... I did buy my boys heart shape chocs - which prompted my teen to ask in some surprise was it valentines day. Guess he doesn't have anyone he's interested in right now
poachedegg
We had cards for one another (OH stuck a Rolo in his ) and I made Valentine Cupcakes and gave the DS2 & DD a bag of chocolate caramel hearts each.
meezers
I usually get a valentines card every year - from a female American friend seems it doesn't have the same meaning over there. Haven't had a card off OH in 18 odd years - then again, neither of us remembers it's valentines day until I read a post like this ! I'm actually more excited about whether my 2 boys will send /receive any cards - living my life through my kids already
