Space Chick
Nothing here, we've never bothered with Valentines day. I think its important value and appreciate your nearest and dearest every day So I endeavour to ensure that those close to me know they are loved every day of the year. Cinnamon
Just had a highly entertaining short at work. Lots of sheepish looking men buying roses, choccies and champagne. I had a good tease of them, which was a lot of fun My basket of the day was a young chap who had Salmon, champagne, flowers and condoms

Lesley
We don't do Valentine's Day but OH forgot and gave me a card today I threw my (ex) husband out 23 years ago today - now that is cause for celebration
AJuff
My OH doesn't have a romantic bone in his body. Therefore I wasn't expecting anything and so wasn't too disappointed. When I told him how my friend had received a dozen red roses, champagne and chocolates he reminded me that I prefer White roses, don't drink and was on a diet so he'd saved his money! DD2 gave me a card, chocolate lolly and heart shaped chocs to share with her dad. Aw how sweet!
Sageandonion
My 10 year old son tonight hand delivered chocolate and a home made card in his own prose to the girl of his dreams, also 10 years old. She has no idea he admires her from afar and he knows his affections will never be reciprocated. Still he was determined, he dressed for the part - donning his dad's coat, wellington boots and a cardboard Knight's helmet. He could have done with some stilts seeing as his lack of height is his most recognisable feature! Now that's what I call a braveheart I'm sure in time her thoughts will turn to older boys, but I bet she won't forget the Valentines Day when a real knight in shining armour turned up on her doorstep. Omletina Kyckling
Nuffink. As a newly singleton, I've found this whole Valentine's Day stuff tough....never got anything when I was married but it does ram it home to you that you are single and alone, and it somehow feels like you're the only one!! Every time I went to any supermarket I seemed to be having to manouevre around couples who were cooing over what to buy from the 2 valentine's meals for £15 or whatever and wanted to scream at them!!! I got utterly sick of any mention of it on tv and online, it seemed to be everywhere this year!
jlo
It is all a bit much isn't it!? I was another one expecting nothing and hence - my expectations were fulfilled! To be honest, we have never really done Valentine's Day. When we first started going out 25 years ago - our anniversary was the 6th, his birthday was the 19th and it was a bit much to expect skint students to splash out on a third celebration in a two week period so we never really bothered. It does seem to be a day that is more designed for Hallmark and Interflora. A few romantci gestures during the year would be nice though. Actually - I can't complain - he did whisk me off to Rome last autumn!
Clur
I got a big de nada/nowt/nuffink but considering both kiddie-winks have been ill and we've not slept for 3 nights, combined with the fact I didn't do anything either, I think I'll let him off the hook He has made me a beautiful meal tonight, poured me some wine and is letting me watch Glee with the promise he won't moan at all. Now THAT'S true love
redhotchick
Valentine's day can be tough when you are newly single. Love and hugs to all the single Omleteers. I tend to wish my friends, colleagues and family a Happy Valentines Day. (I am not American) I brought my mum a treat. I sent love to my close friend, we have discussed and sympathised with each other over Valentines day let downs for many years! I think we have both got to the stage where we don't have any expectations anymore! I didn't get any surprises today, did have a lovely weekend though. Bought lots of easy to cook, delicious food and fine wine and had a relaxing time.

chickencam
It's my hubby's birthday, so Valentine's day is always a bit odd for both of us, we both have rotten colds, so it hasn't been the greatest day, but we have had a cuddle and a sniff together and a few rueful laughs at the state of things. We have been together for a long time so really don't need outside celebrations to keep us together. Instead of baking cakes for his colleagues he bought each lady a heart shaped box of Cadbury's pralines and each gent a Toblerone with 'I love you this much' printed on it and left them on their desks on Sunday evening, he had the day off today. It went down well, they all knew who had done it of course. Both items were supermarker offers so it didn't cost him too much.
