Chucky Mama
Pancake day today What will you be having on yours? Sweet or savory? I have to say that I am a lemon and sugar fan. OH loves banana, maple syrup and cream
..lay a little egg for me
I usually do a bolognese-type filling to be rolled up in pancakes, covered with grated cheese and baked in the oven, followed by pancakes, blueberries and maple syrup for pudding (and maybe some home-made vanilla ice cream for maximum egg usage!). Olly
Probably won't have pancakes, but if I did it would HAVE to be lemon and sugar! Nothing else will do (and nothing else brings back childhood memories so immediately )
Mercedes55
Are we all making our own pancakes with our own fresh eggs I wonder. I'm surprised how many people buy the ready made stuff. I am no great cook, but even I can make batter
Cinnamon
I put a fair few of those ready made wet mixes through my till last week. And ready made pancakes you just heat up,too. I am going to count how many pancakey type things I do tonight through my 2 hour shift....makes the time go quicker
Lavenders_Blue
Isn't it amazing how many semi-or pre-prepared pancake products (there's a tongue twister) are on sale? Really making batter is so easy! It will be lemon and sugar for me, with maybe just one with golden syrup on... just so that I can lick the spoon afterwards

tjandcpj
Hi, just wondered how many others have used their free range eggs courtesy of their chooks to make their pancakes today? Ours were golden and yummy
Barkisland
I took some eggs to work for a colleague this morning and as I handed them over she said 'Ooo pancakes!' My next door neighbour gave a similar reaction. Will be making some myself shortly

Charlottechicken
Had maple syrup on mine. Used Maisie eggs, and as she has just started laying her eggs are tiny but all yolk
Lesley
Lemon and sugar here as well - I had to make take-aways for my son as he was working here and had to go and see a client on his way home.....I thought I was going to be able to eat them all myself as it's the first year I haven't had grandchildren here after school...... CatieB
We only ever do sweet toppings but tonight DH said he wanted savoury as he'd not eaten..so we concocted mushrooms, spinach and a little grated cheese. They were really really nice so much so that it will be repeated before next year. (we did then have to follow them with sugar and lemon sweet course....and then a maple syrup one)

chickencam
1lb of flour, 5 eggs and 2 pints of milk later, we were all happy Mainly lemon and sugar, or orange and sugar, we always had oranges not lemons when I was little. Some were with golden syrup, and OH had one with cheese and gerkins
bluekarin
I for once was well prepared and made mine in the morning before meeting my friend and her baby for a coffee (the friend, not the baby ) I normally make them in the evening after dinner and really can't be bothered with it all, so it was nice to just mike them and eat with the kids. I had lemon juice and sugar. Tried one with golden syrup which was nice but just not right. Kids had chocolate spread, jam, lemon and sugar and honey although not all on the one pancake. They had a bout 4 or 5 each. One of the most enjoyable things though, apart from the eating, was watching the funny 'walking' the bits of parchment paper I used (to go between the layers so they didn't stick) did. Hilarious!
