chestnutmare
Hi, it's been a little while since I visited so hello all! I had my mobile with me this evening while the girls were 'free ranging' so took a few pics. I have to keep a close eye on them when they're out as a buzzard/bird of prey flies from tree to tree, closer and closer, most times they are out (and yes, they will have a go here!). So seeing as the days are getting longer they're let out of the run more often these days. Which will hopefully get them used to me even more... getting louse powder on Willow isn't easy! Snowy's the cheekiest and easiest to pick up with her crouching! And tried to eat my painted nails tonight. Belle is fairly timid but will be picked up (and beautiful). Willow is scatty and I don't think she'll ever come around to being picked up but hopefully she'll improve with time. Willow keeping herself to herself Sharing brocolli Independent Snowy went for a stroll What's that noise? Who? Where? Aaaahhhh!

Sam
I was thinking of you earlier! I saw the "morehens" topic and saw you created it and thought you hadn't been on here for a while!! Your girls look lovely - and Snowy is still white! Ooo would a buzzard take a chicken? Never really thought about that Anyway glad all is going well Sam
chestnutmare
Thanks both! I don't know of a bird can actually take the chicken but a bird of prey (goshawk) attacked a chicken of my parents in the past and was hurt so badly (shall we say ) that it was killed. And this could be what I'm seeing but I can't identify the birds like my parents can. And a buzzard has been extremely close watching the ducks too... we're surrounded by acres of farmland so it's quite wild here. I'd be really angry with myself if something happened to them because I hadn't learnt from passed experience. ...Think I've gone chicken mad. I still find them really entertaining with their own personalities. And never thought I'd be shopping for greens in the supermarket for chickens. chestnutmare
Thanks all - I think Belle is particularly pretty too and she gets lots of compliments. S&O - I call it their playground too! Their 'playground' is part of an acre paddock so probably why it looks like a big garden. Such lovely weather, time for them to play again this evening.
